Stephen Hawking Professor Stephen Hawking, Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge is giving a lecture in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology! For those who don't know, he occupys the same seat as Sir Isaac Newton at Cambridge. He's brilliant! His work on "The Origin of the Universe", together with Roger Penrose, showed that Einstein's General Theory of Relativity implied space and time would have a beginning in the Big Bang and an end in black holes! He did all these works while suffering from Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a form of disease that affect his motor functions. He's paralyzed, except for his tounge and his brain! Well, though I'm not a science nut but his work gives me goose bumps! I don't understand it all but it's very intriguing!
