Look out Lance! I am not a dedicated cyclist. However, riding my bike is one form of exercise that I like to do on a regular basis. I went on a ride today on the East Providence-Bristol bike path, which follows along the bay with all the different types of boats. It is 28 miles round trip and took me about 2 hours. It was a good workout for the legs and also the cardiovascular system. The heat was bearable (85 degrees F) and there was little humidity. It was nice. Gears 13-18 on my 26 inch mountain bike do not work, so my 14 miles per hour pace seemed okay. At least I was able to get my heartrate up. I don't know why when I see people in the tight spandex outfits on their bikes with skinny little tires, it makes me want to laugh out loud. I hold it in most of the time and I am not sure they coud hear me anyway, as they go flying past me on my mountain bike. I suppose I should think about trading in my bike for a street cycle, as I never go off-roading anymore. No spandex for me though. I know it cuts down on the wind resistance, but being in it for the workout, I welcome the extra drag of my t-shirt and cargo shorts. Anyway, that was my morning activity (still on break from work...woo-hoo) and it is nice to see that Rhode Island can be a really beautiful place when you stay off the crazy hi-ways and roads! Be well folks. Brian aka: The next Lance Armsrong (NOT) |

I cycle in Macau within the messy traffic, on the road as well. Junghong, I ever cycled fm Macau to Shunde and Zhongshan. Cool. 90 km record in a day. Brian, I know why you laugh at the spandex cycling outfit, esp. when it's on a man. But it's good to release the bottom's pressure.
