Renaissance Fair in Gilroy I met the Queen in the Fair! She was accompanied by a sizable entourage. While royalty was prancing the streets with robes sweeping the ground, pirates, wizards, swordsmen, knights and damsels were everywhere. And yes, I had a giant turkey leg for lunch, downed with good old ale. At the end of the day, all were treated to a tournament of jousting at the riding pit.

Gilroy is about 20 miles south of San Jose on 101. The Renaissance Fair (of Northern California) in 2006 was held near the Casa de Fruta estate off 152, near Gilroy.
