What is love?

Till today, there are 3 exact words that fully describe me: Serious, self-sacrificing, cheerful.

Why self-sacrifing?

For a few years, ive noticed a pattern in myself. I cant see there is a boundary when it comes to pouring out my efforts, energy to the person i care. It is endless. I cant stop.I will try my 100% to help my partner. My time spent on studying, learning, teaching, helping parents, and working. I ended up with 3 or 4 hours of my private time to listen to music (please add another 8 hours sleep lol).

A friend of mine actually complained this to me. He said, love should be equal. A balance should be strike out between you and him/her.

My question, how can you actually weight or measure love and commitment?

Better not. But sometimes we do.

Toukki,
Love is giving a 100% of yourself, and recieving it back from your mate.

Dear Toukki:

You sound like how I used to be. Always giving it all!! But you must also receive the same amount of love back from your partner. There must be reciprocation otherwise it will be imbalanced and cannot survive for long.

The popular saying is true: "Love is a Two-Way Street".

My Best, Russell
