Day after Tomorrow

"China Meteorological Administration (CMA) issued a red alert early on Monday for severe snowstorms in the central and eastern parts of the country.

According to the forecast, heavy snow is set to blanket northern Hunan, eastern Hubei, southeastern Henan and northwestern Zhejiang, as well as most areas of Anhui and Jiangsu provinces on Monday.

In addition, freezing rain will pound some parts of Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Anhui and Zhejiang. "

Highest alert will be on for the next five days. Extremely cold here, first ever in a decade.

I just wish, the day after tomorrow,

the sun will brisk and melt the snow.

I just wish, the day after tomorrow,

the half a million people stranded in Guangzhou (railway station) would onboard trains and whistle home.

I just wish, the day after tomorrow,

fire could be lit up to warm those freezing cold

somewhere on some isolated counties, villages.

I just wish, the day after tommorrow,

food could reach and elderly both.

I just wish...

The day after tomorrow,

My wishes will be true

and the apocalypse from the film Day After Tomorrow

Wont rule.

And I just wish,

we realize more disasters would fall on
should we continue to
destroy more than construct.

people often discount the climate changes, maybe it's man made, maybe it's not , maybe it's the cycle of the world.. but; truth is, what ever it is , the weather is changing.. we see things that are becomming great hardships to people.. in every sector of the world.. massive winter snow falls, rains that become floods, drought that leads to wild fires, and we can't predict from one day to the next what we may get.. It's been cold, rainy here since early December, and much of the months before had erratic weather..

the massive people stranded by the snow and delayed trains in parts of China and many things..

all shows each time how little we are prepared to meet these conditions, our city and government planning covers much of sunny day living, but they have not prepared well at all to meet with this.. who knows what comes next.. but let's hope for positive things.

Fitan,

Your idea sounds nice. But the fact is that in developing countries like China, farm lands and forest are giving way to factories, wood furnitures. But the picture should be viewed as a whole as the climate change is a global thing. No country can be away, it happened already, this time China, last Britain, US...A result of 60 years over-development/destruction of the earth!

Touch,
What mess up in China is that, there is not only snow, buy freezing rain in the same time - when the rain drops, it immediately freeze. Very erratic! And it happens in this critical timing - while millions are on way heading home for Chinese New Year!

You are right our city and government has no planning covers natural disasters (like this time, no body in China predicted it). Maybe the chaos are already beyond human capacity. Yeah, just hope for the best.

the greed of mankind who can only close the gates after the farm animals have gone to the hills. and what is left is what use to be a farm, to be bulldozed over .. and a multi mile long factor emerges... and then the trek to another country to get natural resources to supply it. a great recipe for internal chaos and external wars.. " the encroachments of mankind, is always the cause of plunder... and nature comes each time and show us.. that we are not brilliant .. only mechanically obsessed.. and then nature makes our machines grind to a halt... and we still can't see.. "nature rules" .. millions upon millions huddled into what is called a city, but more a industry and commerce center, where people are just a different kind of machine, with a number attached to them. the Holiday is a man made invention, which is more commercial than it is a Holiday... without money it's not much of a holiday at all... and to some it's only a time to make double pay for working.

the mechanized human, seeking only to live and find we've become assimilated into the working of the machine.

we've grown to think as being we can control so much, that we are baffled when nature shows us that it can rain down as it pleases where it please and make all things submit.. and yet we claim we can be smart enough to make nature change... but cant predict what next week will bring... and then can't control what it brings, when it comes.

so we find by force of choice of limited options.. we have to deal with what is..
