The Price in China

What can you buy with HKD79/EUR8.45/USD10.30?

In Hong Kong? In Europe? In USA? Guess you cant buy much a thing.

How about in China?

Yesterday I tried an promotional offer by my Bank of China credit card company - pay HKD79 - to get a ticket to Zhuhai Chinese Medicine Valley plus a 45 minutes spa/massage on back in their Chinese Ancient Treatment House.

It's really nice and relaxed!

The Chinese Medicine Valley is built naturally along a hill that offers birdview of the city, having both indoor and outdoor facilities. There are a variety of pools inside, mainly Chinese medicine pools (containing long-boiled herbal soup of different functions and benefits to body and mind) , but also aromatic pools like rose, greentea, milk. what's most interesting is a Yi Ching pool designed w/ Feng Shui elements. Also a mineral sand pool where I asked my friend to bury me w/ sands and had a wonderful sleep there lying on an antique blue porcelain pillar. When in sands, i had peaceful thought that everybody does lie down like this and disappear little by little at their last moments.

The pools temperature varied from cold, cool to hot. You can enjoy according to yr likes. At last, I jumped inside the cold swimming pool n had a long-missing swim. I felt cool but excellent! Then I jump to hot pools again to a last contrast feel, which could well stimulate blood circulation.

Remember, we still had spa on the back yet to do. The girl, 20, but has quite good skill. Just close eyes, dip into a slumb and wander...

All these just cost HKD79/EUR8.45/USD10.30 (excl. the petty tips fr the girl). Is China price too cheap or too worthy? When I travelled in Amsterdam, I always stretched out tongue at EUR prices because I had the mind for currency exchange.

However, this's only the seeming surface, dont be cheated by Chinese prices. If you are one of the average salary-earning Chinese people, you are paying high, much higher than your European, American friends and Macau/Hong Kong compatriots for general expense. Actually China can be one of the most inflationary countries nowadays.

We may discuss further this topic later, if interested.

hmmmm the best bargain would be to get yourself is to eat at an indian restaurant (probably cost hkd5), then visit the themepark (hkd10) for entrance fee. Then, the rest, u can buy food, kfc, mcdonald, etc.

Massage? um.. need hkd100 lolz! If u dont want, u can always try hkd60 for facial !

But yours is a huge bargain!!!

Goanaol, In large cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, the average monthly income is RMB2700 (apprx. usd335). But China in general i guess is ard RMB800(apprx. usd100). A wage earning Chinese needs to put 35 times his life-long salary to buy a house based on current house price. The gap btw rich and poor are widening, sad!

Cinder, sounds not bad. But we can buy yr things here at 1/3 price.

Toukki, for massage, the best offer is in mainland China, sure.

Fkfjd, thank you.
