Dolma la - Beauty from Tibet

(Introductory):
Wind of the grassland, rain of the grassland, sheep of the grassland
Flower of the grassland, water of the grassland, girl of the grassland.

(Female Chord):
Ah, Dolma, ah, Dolma
Girl of the grassland
Dolma la (&repeat after P1&P2&P3)

(P1
You have a flowery name, beautiful girl Dolma la
You have a happy smile, oh beautiful girl Dolma la
You are like a free bird, singing on the grassland;
You are like the spring colorful butterflies dancing, glittering among the flowers.

Nah, Dolma,
Wild flower of the grassland, Dolma la

You dedicate your songs to the snow mountain, the snow mountain that fosters you.
You dedicate your beauty to the grassland, the grassland that fosters you.

(P2)
You have a flowery name, beautiful girl Dolma la
You have a flowery smile, beautiful girl Dolma la
You are like a cup of sweet wine, intoxicating the sun, intoxicating the moon
You are like a far extending pastoral song, beautifying the snow mountain, beautifying the grassland.

Ah, Dolma,
Wild flower of grassland

(P3)
You dedicate your songs to the snow mountain, the snow mountain that fosters you.
You dedicate your beauty to the grassland, the grassland that fosters you.

You dedicate your songs to the snow mountain, the snow mountain that fosters you.
You dedicate your beauty to the grassland, the grassland that fosters you.

--lyric translated by me--

This is a song able to soothe my jumbled mind
This is a song able to trigger my ample desire
for Doma la
for the grassland
for the snow mountain

It is purely beautiful…

It greatly reminds me: the world is huge,
more huge than the small world we imprison ourselves;
the beauty lies somewhere, and everywhere, waiting for your discovery.

Don’t be deaf, don’t be blind, open your ears, open your eyes.

(I must thank my Tibetan friend Jim who sent this song to me fm Italy. He never comes back Tibet but he carries the nostalgic dream and music wherever he goes. "Dolma la" is by Tibetan singer Yadong in Chinese. Who wants to have it, let me know and I’ll send u. You can also visit www.tibetsong.com for many other Tibetan song/music. The website only has Chinese version. )

(And, i just saw a real Tibetan movie shot in Tibet by tibetans,a story abt a 9 years old lama's life. He, and the whole Tibet is facing reconcilation btw tibetan traditions and outside influences. Earthy, realistic, those people, temples, horses and immense snow mountains...I like Tibet but never plan to go, i dunno why..., the plateau sickness is just an excuse)
