Curious,

Last night a speaker concluded 3 types reasons of absence to TM:
1) bcoz of no time
2) bcoz of no use
3)bcoz of no money

So you belong to No Time type? I may know your priorities

Do you think Toastmasters good? I'm new member & i enjoy Find my Voice there. Will go to Singapore for Distric Convention in May. In Nov.06 there w/b a World Convention hosted by Macau Toastmasters. Come join us!

Toastmasters is a very good investment of your time.

And yes, Swallow, my priorities have shifted recently.

DVC: "because we are simply not interested"

ObjectionS!

This is a painful reason for me. On the contrary, we am interested, but we are not able to foster(aford) the interest. Merely being helpless.

"Enjoy it, but remember to be wary and not lose your critical eye..."

My new enthusiasm in TM is like that in a revolution. I feel the power of mass gathering together - i want to know why those Red Guards gathered in Tiananmen for a longlife chant to Mao; why German youth gathered under Hilter for a nazi speech; why when ppl convene, all the governments are trembling...

And, you know, my dear D., eyes are critical, for lovers, family members, friends, you and me, I'd hopefully train my eyes to be sharper, throwing them onto the audience to tell whose eyes are brighter than yours. TM sells: When deliver a speech, eye contact is important. This applies also to??

Thank you for your reminding...

Curious,

Good to have priorities, even better to swing btw them.

Goan,
As my post abv, maybe i m temporarily lost in the massive power. And i want to make some voice for letting out some messages. Self-confidence is formed inside us, guess no need to be built up by TM.

Eclecticgourmet,

In Hong Kong, they have Cantonese TM. Macau only English.

Great that you found out the fun of cantonese. Cantonese is the most lively, sarcastic and funny language in the world, for us Cantonese speakers. If a HK movie is dubbed into Mandarin/English, the humor and fun disappear at all. You know, in sense of dirty, bad words, it's also no. 1 It also has 9 tones, 5 more than Madarin.

So, friends, a/c to yr TM experience, nothing negative you've found there?
