We want more than we need!? (Extending our last night’s discussion here): What’s the difference btw want and need? Need, basic need, those limited things that sustain our (simple) life, food, water, air, love… Want, desire, many unlimited things that we greed for, prompted by consumerism, wrong conception, unseen black hands. Our world is under over-production of goods, over-consumption of energy. We don’t need air conditioner, TV, shitty soap opera, cars, and other luxuries. What’s worse, a small fraction of people are occupying a great deal of resources; a large sum of people are having very small fraction of resources. How to make all people have an equal share of nature’s gifts ? ‒ every thing we have and consume is to the root fm nature, it doesn’t belong to any person, any company, any group, any country ‒ it’s for all. A challenging question for you to think, an island of 1000 residents, w/ fertile soil, water, energy, everything suffice, how to make it into a fair, happy society that everyone gets his/her share equally? What first step can we initiate to make a change to today’s want-more-than-need world and the want-more-than-need ourselves? By what means? Would you say this is a doom-to-failure attempted, naive “ambition” ? now that even socialism and communism proved to be irrealistic utopias. Why we want more than we need? (By the way, this subject make me think and comes my self-examination: if I exist here everyday, merely enjoying my time, happily writing and blogging here, plus all my basic needs are fulfilled, with someone(s) loving me and me loving someone(s). Why am I not at ease? Why do I “want’ changes based that my basic needs are met? ) |

the bigger issue and concern is I think, " people must first find themselves", to actually love whom they are as they are in being the individual they are.. but that is the greatest challenge faced by many, many people. the constant need to measure themselves by others, what other's have, what other's do and how and where other's go. and etc. And massive advertising plays on this.. and ... now in life... people are satisfied with nothing... and, mostly not even themselves. the truth ot the truth, has lost a value unto many... and it's about things, stuff, and more suff and things... and yet...nothing is enought, because the void they seek to fill ... cannot be filled... it has to be simply explored and acknowledged, and simply appreciated for the void it is, that makes room... always for the infinity of what is love to flow thru them... filling and flowing ... flowing and filling... and the reality is... it requires so little.. we need to sustain our system of physical and mental and spiritual being we want... if we were and become intellengent of and about whom is ourself.. we would want to be a open void that love may flow thru us.. and variate our shape and form in the whole of our being, by the ways love flows thru.. and simply be an ... instrument, that love may feely... utilize for the sake of love.. but, that's a bit beyond what people care to consider... besides, It's another commercial advertisment on the tv, another dumb soap opera showing them how to cheat, lie, steal, play games, and avoid being themselves. and someon just drove up in a new car, shinier's that the person who just past by...and .. foot covering is not suitable, there is a new style on the showroom shelves... so in the wilderness of "natures everything"... people choose to starve, because it's not pre-cooked and in a nice wrapper and, other's choose to become gluttons. and stupidity of much... disrespect the nature of this earth... and become to despise other of people..... while self consumption deprives all, of so very much.. of the little things that should be plentiful... and that "regard".

Goan "The real problem is how to make this available to everyone, equally and how to maintain a balance and a sense of fairness." You mean the right for everybody to access and to choose their need. How to? you ask and i ask. Today's rule is: the strong, the stronger; the weak, the weaker; the rich, the richer; the poor, the poorer. A cruel fact for individuals and nations as well. The world needs to set up some order and rules to make it fairer. Just charity and relief work cant tackle the problem. The root of unfairness and inequality should be digged up and cut. But depend on whom to do this? politicians? economists? agriculturists? We should think how we can contribute a little by ourselves. Start it fm ourselves, and fm everybody. Except fulfilling our own needs and wants, shall we have some social responsibility and world citizen commitment? So selfish we are.

So, folks, we would like to conclude that there will never be equity on the earth, due to human nature such as greed for material and power??? Utopia and communism theories are very good, just that when in practising, ppl distort their spirit. And, we can want more than we need becoz we are more lucky to have this choice?
