Writing vs Speaking

an unending Discussion:

Which way you prefer? Which way is more elaborate? more efficient? brings more understanding?

Some say, speaking, esp face to face, create a full reality of communication. Being there makes a big difference. Writing can't do this job. It's cold, cold words.

Some say, writing, renders deeper meaning fm the mind. Easy, thoughtful, silent communication.
It can be warm, hot, everything.

And today, internet provids instant chatting (i mean by writing only), spoken words were written out as soon as spoken out. Sort of mixture of speaking and writing.

I only know, without writing, we wont have had that much knowledge and wisdom passisng on and on; without writing we wont be that spiritually rich today; what's more important, we wont be here blogging.

And a love letter lasts longer and means much more than a string of fast spoken love words. All fragrance in it that you cant feel fm speaking. But it doesnt mean i dont like listening to such soft whispers and sonorous songs

Everyone reads, and the written word can be reread, whereas the the spoken word, once uttered cn never be respoken the same. However as goan says,to read the thoughts,to see the look ,pales if we cannot feel the breath,to touch ,to risk one's heaart to reach another's heart.

any and all forms of communication are fine with me... we sue them as it works best considering the situation... or we can do so to create and mix them in a situation..
hell.. I can live with a woman, and still want to write to her.. as equal as I want to talk with her..

I'd love a woman who could appreciate poetry and prose, I love to write and leve the writing for her...
I use to have one relationship where it was so good.. I recall I would write poems, and when I come home, we'd sit infront of the fish tak and I'd read it to her..

I love writing and talking.. I don't need to figure out which is better... just as long as I can do both.. or either.. freely.

Swallow,
A mixture of all is best. A little of this. A little of that keeps the romance alive and exciting. There's more than one way to the heart. Some women even use cooking. The more creative the lovers the more they show their Love.

I raise hands and feet to agree with you! A mixture of all is best. A little of this. A little of that. Only one is tedious and it should be everchanging - the communication means.

Cooking? Guess it's only a method used by some "virtuous" Chinese women: to bind him by binding his stomach. Western women also do this?!

OSMD

I believe the reason most rely on the spoken word more so than the written word now a days is, their inapt ability at writing!

Technology is as much to blame as our institutions of learning, those who teach in them, and society's complacency for mediocrity!

Good to have you another thinker here. You have different perspetive. Techonology on one hand brings progress and convenience, on the other hand, it makes us more mediocre, even stupid. W/ such methods like webcam, voice chat, it only makes ppl less literate in reading, writing and deep understanding.

Goan&DVC

Your minds *body,2* are similar this time. , same experience?

I never use webcam. As you said, a false reality. And, why we need to see a person fm a distance? Writing or Voice suffices the communication.

Mint
That's one reason why I thought it was very strange that the woman I met through this site and dated never read my blog...

She wants to feel the fleshy you, haha...Actually, some ppl dont like reading at all, except some gossiping magazine. Is she like this?

Mido: risk one's heaart to reach another's heart
The distance and the de-distance of two hearts is more a journey than a risk. Agree?

Touch
An idealist as usual, what can i say when you have grasped it all?

Life and death of word

DVC

"When a word is said, it's dead, but i say, it only begins to live."

How abt when a word is written, any difference?

Gibran said we talk "when you can no longer dwell in the solitude of your heart you live in your lips, and sound is a diversion and pasttime."

I feel so. I feel sometimes i like to make sound.
