Mexicana

Abt Mexican food? What do you think of? Spicy and chilly?

As i read fm in-depth travelog books, not many choices in Mexican cuisine. Corn bread and thicky soup. But last Sat. dining at the first and only Mexican Restaurant in town somehow changed my idea. mmh, thanks to American casinos for its opening. But the chef is fm Texas. Guess what he does is American Mexican food.

Anyway, i was quite impressed for the ambience, service and food quality in this Mexicana after being fed up dining out in Macau since its booming tourism has lowered the service and food quality at restaurants.

We ordered spicy Tortillas Soup (tomato and smoked pepper), a starter: Cuacamde and Corn Chips (smash of kiwi fruit, avocado, tomato, onion and chile dip); spicy chicken slices w/ cheese topping corn pancake, and a sole fellet, the last two w/ a sided hot bean soup.

I enjoyed the corn chips very much, esp. accompanying the cooling smash, though i dont like potato chips. The cheese melting on corn pancake is also delicious. And the rare seen black Mexican beer is cool.

Sitting there, motivating my 6 senses, surrounded by Mexican music, i felt like a trip to Mexico and Latin America, and try the real Indian corn bread. Exotic and colorful!
