Hide Your Passion

Pls read below story - a famous commentator stirred China up w/ his passionate commentary on World Cup Match Italy vs Australia.

It's merit: passion is not allowed in this worldly world. Passion will get bounceback bcoz there are too many "cool",cerebral ppl.

Adopt Doctrine of Mean instead.

Be rational, use your head before you speak, act, love or not love (hehe...), outthrow your heart. And stop eating Passion Fruit and walk slowly to a Reason Hug(b).

Can you manage your Doctrine of Mean perfectly? or sometimes you will lose head as this Mr. Huang?

Blab. Be modestly passionate is still needed, so as to imbue a little rainbow into the grey sky.[/

Chinese popular sports commentator Huang Jiangxiang shouting himself hoarse fm Germany for CCTV's live w/ overwhelming passion in the match Italy vs Australia "Penalty! Penalty!","Grosso's done it! Great Italian left back! Grosso succeeded in the long history and tradition of Italian soccer! He is not fighting alone at the moment!", "Left back the great! Happy birthday to Maldini! Forza Italia! Long live Italy!". [baidu.com]

The sports host got excited and sided with Italy, saying things like "Don't give the Australians any chances!" and "Long live Italy!" after Italy ousted Australia with a last minute penalty shot to reach the World Cup quarterfinals. His behavior then sparked a heated nationwide controversy.

As for his passionate but controversial commentary, Huang explained that the game was too personal for him to have been an objective observer.

"I reviewed the video of last night after waking up this morning," Huang said, "and felt my words were biased and inappropriate and that they may have hurt or displeased a lot of Chinese soccer fans."

Most web surfers show sympathy and understanding towards the well-respected commentator who drew heavy criticism from several online discussion forums.

"Mr. Huang has expressed himself and his opinions in a passionate manner for which I applaud him," netizen Douglas in Shunde wrote ]cn forum.

davinci,

Doctrine of mean = Not too passionate, not too cold, medium.

I have favorite teams - i will favor a team that plays real football, plays it fair and demonstrate beauty, quality and teamwork. For Argentina vs Ghana, I hoped Ghana shot the Argentinians home, but they just couldnt shoot properly. I just hail for the better side, not the more famous or stronger side. My dear DVC, dont think women go after footballer's look and fame, though the crying C. Ronaldo was so pitiful and worth a pat on the face when he was kicked off by that shameful Hollander.

As for Henry diving or not, he and the defender made different versions of explanation. Each side has its reason. Only god knows. Generally, Henry is not a performer in the field.

But, pls, Spaniars and you, dont blame failure on a free-kick. Ppl like finding reason (exuses) for losses and believe in it. Finding and creating reasons just can make them feel comfortable, spirit of ah Q (a self-comforting mentality as defined by our great writer Lu Sun.

There are many free-kicks offered to many teams. But only very few can make it into a score. Free-kick =/ score. So if France didnt score fm this free-kick and still won, what other reason would they and you say?

Chat,
Who studied in the same college w/ you? DVC or Henry?

Chat,

I know now you mean Huang Jiangxiang were your schoolmate.

In your last blog, you passionately told everybody to "shut up" and passionately screamed "I hail for you" quite some times

I cheered so to respond to those ppl's passionate slander and attacking at thess old, shitted former champions - they wanted to see them play their farce at WC stage and to enjoy Zidane's ugly swansong. If this France team performed bad, they felt happy. What kind of psychology? Being audience, watching games w/ fairness is also important.

BTW, extreme nationalism and racism exist in Spanish football a fact that ordinary Spanishmen cant deny. The fans booed at French anthem when it was played; the coach called Henry black shit. Such deeds should be paid w/ failure.

DVC
I dont think Spain lost on that free-kick. If the ref. gave them one, they were not able to kick it into the net; if France didnt make it, there's no such controversy. (BTW, Puyol did apologize to Henry after that foul he didnt admit afterwards. ) They lost on teamwork (there's seldom but solo play); they lost on coach's tactics, he wanted to win in 90min and made improper substitute; they lost on the repeated off-side traps and bad defense, which trapped Henry 5 times but failed to trap Ribery while Henry stood firm there raising hands to tell refs they were not off-side. The first goal to level was the turning point of the match. And you cant deny that these old French players have no skill and technic.

Moral: a united old team is more powerful than a young powerful team of one or two talents.
