Is computer man or woman?

(Immediate translation fm a forwarded email - stereotyped “woman in man’s eyes” “man in woman’s eyes” reflected fm computer’s characteristics)

In a French class, the teacher told the students that French nouns have gender: feminine (female) or masculine (male). House is a feminine noun ‒ la maison; Pencil is masculine ‒ le crayon.

One student raised, “then, computer is a man or woman? “

The teacher did not answer but divided the class into two groups ‒ a female group and a male group. He asked them to discuss and determine computer’s gender by citing four reasons.

Male group determined that computer is no doubt a woman, reasons:

1. Except her creator, nobody knows her inner thinking logic.

2. They communicate w/ other computers w/ an inborn language that nobody can understand.

3. They will store even the slightest errors in memory so that they can extract and review whenever they have time.

4. When you decide to have her, you will find you need to spend half of your salary to buy accessories for them.

However, female group drew a different conclusion, they determined that computer should be a man. Reasons:

1. Whatever you want computer to do, the first step is to turn him on (or boost him).

2. There is lots of information stored in computer, but he doesn’t know to think and to think for his own good.

3. Computer should help to settle your problem, but more often computer himself is a problem.

4. When you decide to have him, you will find that if you wanna wait a little bit more, very natural a better model will be born.
Result: female group wins!

Is your computer a man or woman?

Have fun.

I have always considered computers to be women and treated them accordingly.

- They need to be defragged on a daily basis to help keep their drives in working order;

- When they give you the message "Bad command or file name," never let on that you are concerned just say "Yes dear" and ask what you need to do. Giving compliments usually helps;

- Always pickup around them;

- Never talk about other computers that you have had when you are with them;

- Always back-up your information off-site in case they have a hard drive crash and won't open the door.

I believe that computers are nothing more than a tool and do the job they were designed to do - sort of like a screw-driver, or a hammer. I belive that a computer must be male as there are people who fully understand every bit of them. That cannot be said about women. And for once, I am serious.

TG - I belive that a computer must be male as there are people who fully understand every bit of them.

Now this makes me nervous. I have always operated under the assumption that I'm male but then again I don't understand myself. And many people have said that they just cannot understand me, either.

Oh dear! What does this mean?

gourmet,

welldone. Computer's creator is men, no doubt it has so many male things inside.

My computer is a cool man w/ good temper, not a spoiled baby, sonyia. Except that once in a while, he falls for wild flower temptation (such as I LOVE YOU virus), and occasionally, some program would hang. But a simple RESET, or Ctrl+Alt+Del can make this guy work again. He is very logical (mostly do things a/c to orders) and short of emotion, he is a man, maybe a military man.

Curious,
Both men and women dont understand themselves. That's why we have another friend - computer - for easily sorting out and calculate us.

Davinci - Btw, I wonder why so many guys keep repeating that rubbish about not understanding women: it is VERY easy to understand any woman, not more difficult than understanding a man. Where are the problems?

Good propoganda by women.

As the old saying goes "If you say something often enough, people believe it."

Hey Davinci, yes, propoganda by women telling men that men do not understand them. There is definitely the 'appealing mysteries' aspect. But there is also the control aspect. If a man is convinced that he does not undertand waht is happening then he must try and figure it out and of course because the answer when found is always denied then the man is left not knowing what to do.

Of course since a lot of women's action is driven by hormons, and they fully know this and joke about it, and discuss it among themselves. But men for the most part know little about women's menstrual cycles, PMS, menopause, etc., etc. None of this stops women from being productive and intelligent but it does have an affect on how they may act.

If you don't know about something, then you are able to deal with it effectively and intelligently and caringly.

All men should go and watch the play [post 46552] discussed in VirgoSerpents blog.

As they say 'knowledge is power'.

The trap is: we think we could understnad others if we want to; but we never want to really understand ourselves.
