What? 'Chinese for Africa'!

Supposingly, if you come across my company offering language services in some African country, with the name 'Chinese for Africa', will you think it arrogantly and stupidly colonial? Do you want to dismantle its signboard?

As a matter of fact, company selling English services, with a similar name does exist here, happily boasting with such a colonial name and patting shoulder wih local officials.

But everytime I see/hear it, it flares not only my ears but head and the remembrance of history.

I will never allow such a fkg stingy stinky colonial name!!!!

Can you guess what is the co. name that outrages me? Ask me for tips. I wonder, will it outrage you as well? Maybe we'll have two camps, the rational and so-called extremist. I dont care labels but substance.

And, shall the society ban the use of offensive language in public?

goan,

But some western states are saying China is to colonized Africa and make it a overseas province.

My question is not addressed to politics, but of linguistic psycho. concern.

i am asking if the name 'Chinese for Asia' sounds collonial. Just to test the language's offensive effect.

DVC<

Valuable lesson for me. Tks.

So there still exists subjective offensiveness in language.

I agree w/ your expectation of sino-africa mutual beneficial relationship. China will never exploit any other nation. History has proved it. Our great eumuch admiral navigated around the world earlier than Spanish and Portuguese did with support of a huge group of naval ships, setting feet on Africa, America and all over Asia, but never conquered or colonized, just giving of gifts in hope of imposing Chinse emperor's prestige.

i dont underestimate my country, pride in it and awake in it.

But you know, there's some funny voices fm extreme Chinese nationalists:

Why not colonize some lands and to immigrate some ppl? too crowded in China.

Fight to Tokyo and occupy Japan.

As for China policy twds Africa, very long term since mao time.

Our gvnmt was not smart in the past, driven by the socialist mindset, just giving not benefit, build them roads, rails, hospitals, medical support, training, free of charge... Now it is smarter, by giving and benefiting in the same time, a new diplomatic approach. For example, we build infrastructures for Angola on the basis of a contract of long term oil suplly.

We hate others to interfere with us, why should we bother to? Deng note, 'Economic development is the only hard principle.' Only after feeding its ppl and to fulfill the very basic human right, does a country have strength to care for other rights.
