"The Soul Machine"

James Brown was among the leaders in some very artistic and creative ways in what became the civil rights movenment, and the enfranchising of a people who were down trodden by the systematical principals of life styles of ethnic bias.. better known as pre-judgmental exclusionism.. simple terms_ prejudice, defined as - racial bias and supporting racial-exclusion, and barring form opportunity to participate.. and this was imposed on all people of color..with malice of motivation. and violence of enforcment to exclude. as so was the .. movenment of " civil rights" at it's peack during the ages..
He stepped forth and brougth something new to the arena of a people's pride..
where so many had looked down and thought "black" to be something negative and even to be ashame of" .. he created a slogan.. " I'm Black and I'm Proud'.. and all american began to embrace the nature of pride in their heritage as black beings of this earth..and thus many of non balck began to see black people as people.. and this transcended to be something that uplifted "All people of color from all regions of the world".. to embrace their natural heritage of color"..

he was a pinoneering cross over artist..and known through=out America, by both black and white and all other races .. as an entertainer extrodanier, he made debut, in movies, that brought memorable moment to each movie he appeared.

We must thank James Brown for helping us stand up and say.. " I'm black and I'm proud".. that was such a monmentual moment in the history of America.. little recogonized for it's impact but neverthe less, a resounding moment in the history of America.. and to people of other lands who had been made to feel inferior because of their skin. Yes, Mr. Brown did that.. and it gave so much pride to so many.

He stood where few could find the strength to stand.. and he stood as a man... may we who know not even his truth.. Honor " James Brown"..

I for one had the pleasure to meet him face to face and shake his hand.. with eye to eye contact..

We can honestly say.. he "rocked the world" ...and the world "rocked with him"..

he was a first in so many ways.. for a man who came up from having nothing, to building a string of radio stations, all the way thru moving about in his own private jet.. but he was forever giving back..

he was stern in his discipoline of his musical team.." the fablous flames'.. they made a history have rhythm, and gave a beat to the tempo of the times..
in his songs.. " it's a mans" world.. he spoke of many things, and opened the eyes of many to see many things."

History may one day look back and see.. such greats .. as James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Jackie Wilson, Ray Charles, and Nat King Cole".., Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong,Aretha Franklin, Ella , James, Billy Holiday,John Coltrian, Mahila Jackson Sam Cooke,Otis Redding, and many many other greats.. that we knew as showmen and entertainers.. but truly they stood as history makers, and marker's of time.. as true history makers.. thru a medium..that made it blend and flow.. with great impact but with the smoothness of not even being known of the movenment of the impact.. that's self-less .. that's greatness.

to those who understand.. " are those who will give regard of tribute" to such greats.

excerpt from interview:

HAMMER: My favorite song of yours is "I Don't Want Nobody to Give Me Nothing (Open the Door, I'll Get it Myself)." How did that song come about?

JB: That song still remains, because of the fact that there are a lot of things closed to blacks, Hispanics, women. There are a lot of people who think they're in the system, but they're really not in the system. Uh, any time an Afro-American kid, 9 or 10 years old, can get up and say "Mama, I think I'm gonna study hard because I want to be president," and have a shot at being president, then we've got America. Other than that, we've got a name and we're trying to find out what it means.
Uh, one day, when you can go on any side of town and not be frantic, or curious, about what might happen to you, and be at home at any place in America, we won't have to worry about "Say It Loud (I'm Black and I'm Proud)." We won't have to worry about those songs by, uh, Joan Baez or Janis Joplin and John Lennon, that they made in the Sixties. That's what we're trying to do. We're trying to let people know that, hey, don't give me nothin', just open up the door, and if I don't earn it, then I don't earn it.
I want you to quote me as saying this -- "If I become a bum, then let me become a bum by my own choice." Then, if I become a bum, don't label me as a nigger bum, just let me be a bum. Now, that's pride.

excerpt from interview:

HAMMER: But what about "Hot Pants"? That song was about \bsexo?\b, wasn't it?

JB: "Hot Pants"? "You gotta use what ya got to get just what you want"? It's as much about \bsexo?\b in there as Mom's apple pie!! (laughs) How you like that?
Ninety percent of the stuff you see on television is all \bsexo?\b, and they kill 30 people in a 30 minute show, almost before you see the title of the show. They worried about me? I was trying to make people happy. I'm just worried about our country.
...I want to say to say to the young kids: Education may be hard today, but if you go through it today, tomorrow will be easy. If you don't go through it today, it will be harder.
