Whose Heart Is Broken?

Pig Ba Jie always waters at the sight of beautiful girls, but he can never catch the eyes of any girls longer, let alone marriage. He is rather frustrated at the thought of being refused by girls. Guess what? He has an unfavorable look.

Pilgrimage going to the West for the holy Scripture brought him a great sum of money and honors as well, but after he left his master and brothers, what he wanted most is marriage. He wanted to have a beautiful woman to share his life. Besides, he wanted to have to inherit his fortunes, for he did not want to leave his money to those who did not have any relations with him before taking the journey to Heaven.

Surfing the net, he has found a hospital where the art of the face lifting is rather successful. Jotting down the telephone number and the address, he drove to the hospital. Half a year passed, Pig Ba Jie thoroughly remolded himself: a 100% handsome looking man, but he did not go back to his own home; instead, he sold his estate and settled in another city.

Pig Ba Jie’s efforts proved to be a total success; he married a beautiful girl half a year later. His wife is beautiful. Apart from that, she has all the sweet qualities of Chinese women. He has never had any chances to feel unhappy since the marriage, for she does everything for him and she has a fabulously sweet character. Half a year passed, Pig Ba Jie has not found any changes in his wife’s belly; another half wasted away, the barn of wheat still remained empty.

One night, while drinking blended wine, Pig Ba Jie said to his wife, “Darling, would you mind going to the hospital to have a medical check? I want to know what is wrong with us? I am crazy about having a girl like YOU!”

Smiling sweetly, his wife answered, “Darling, no need for it.”

“Why?” he was a bit puzzled.

“One night when you were drunk, you told me that you used to be ugly: you are Pig Ba Jie.” She continued speaking to her husband peacefully and calmly. “I used to one of your brothers who went together with you for the pilgrimage, Sha Seng.”

Flabbergasted, he slapped the face of his “wife”. Tears in eyes, he showed his heart-broking soul.

Glasses are easy to break, but hearts are not easy to break. Well, my heart was broken when I sensed that I could never win a girl in my life. I am honest, upright, hardworking, and I have all the good qualities of men, but not a girl even winked at me. But you, lazy and greedy, had the luck to touch some girls, beautiful or not. The pathos is that I am TOO honesty, so I changed not only my face, also my sex.”

Honest Sha Seng told a big lie to “her husband”. Amused: whose heart is broken?

Know the story of Tang Sheng? Pig Ba Jie, Sha Seng and Tang Sheng come from the novel of Journey to the West. Enjoy!

Both.

And mine, too. Broken for that they tried hard to change for a new life. But after so big a turn, they zigzagged back to their origin.

Pig Ba Jie is still a pig.

Sha Seng is still a male monk.

We are still ourselves no matter how much change we've encountered.

Swallow, you really gave a nice comment! I loveeeee it!!

But read it: Glasses are easy to break, but hearts are not easy to break. Be Strong, and be courageous!

Good luck!

Yes, Gaon!

This is something I like in Swallow's comments:

Pig Ba Jie is still a pig.

Sha Seng is still a male monk.

Good luck!

Interesting, why compare glass to a heart? Or vice versa?

Hitoallnow,

What will happen if a glass is broken? No chances to collect the pieces as a whole.

What will happen if a heart is broken? Chances to collect your courage to restore the broken heart still exist.

Moral for me: the sky will not collapse no matter how hard the life is! Smile away the sad days, but it needs courage and faith!
