Touched

Today I was really touched by what one of my colleague did. I gave a lecture about China on of the campuses in October and I thought that would be the end of the story, but I got 19 letters from the teacher and the students today. I have never expected such moving and touching letters.

The letter from the teacher:

"Thank you for taking time to come and speak to our Learning Community. The students were so happy to hear from you and to know you. Enclosed are letters from the students to you..."

A letter from a student:

"Thank you so much for coming to talk with our class on Monday. I greatly enjoyed getting to hear you speak. Your country sounds so different and interesting. You made it to where I would like to visit China someday. Our class really liked you and you have such a great personality. Once again..."

Frankly speaking, my personality is the part of Chinese traditional culture. I am who I am!

I am happy that I shared my culture with the students in the States, I am happy that students in the States have interest in Chinese culture, and I am also happy to be a representative of Chinese culture.

The picture in the left is from one of my teachers in the States, but this picture was taken in Haerbin China, ice statues.

We have a atues expo. in Macau Tower. It's good to take pride in self and our culture, but dont overpride.

"Frankly speaking, my personality is the part of Chinese traditional culture."

Hohoho...if you only show the traditional part of yrself and China, you are a biased speaker and you fool the listners around.

Swallow,

Sorry I was off the campus for two days. Maybe I am. But please read the next part: I am who I am.

I have problems with my family members and my friend.
My sister said that I should not be so direct when I talk (keep something inside); my friend said that I should not keep everything inside (I need to speak what is on my mind). Here is a big difference between east and west. Now can you guess what kind of person I am? Telling everything out or Keeping everything inside?

I am saying that being brought up in a certain kind of culture means that I am closely connected with some traditional traits of that culture. When someone annoys me, I don't fight back because I believe fighting can only make things worse. I bet you know the formation of that Chinese word: endurance (a knife goes under a heart).

Teacher is the root of education. If people doesnt receive good quality of education, then our society cannot be fully developed.

Not trying to make you happy coz teachers are important

Gourmet and Elmo,

I am happy that you like the Ice Sculpture in my picture.

Qingqing,

This is really my nick name which only one of my intimate friends uses, and her family. If I bother, I am sorry.

Sayu,

Thanks so much for your comments!
