Earliest day I've ever woken up for the freaken covoy...kinda grumpy and upset not getting enough sleep. My guide said tried to get some sleep for 6hours ride to Cairo. OMG...6hours is a long time...are we going to get there ?
He said Colly you better get your breakfast box...yes Sir acting like my sitter .
There was over hundreds of tour buses following the convoy and we had a break at one of the military station. The toliets cost a double EP2 ..such a rip-off .
There were Egyptians trying to make a living setting up photo opportunity dressing in traditional clothing and matching it with Camels and donkey. A lot of tourists took photos with them, giving candies to the little girl and handing out tips.
I'd end-up sleeping most of the time...beauty is sleeping . Eventually we got to Cairo...yes!!! Our guide was pointing out the Pyramid wow so spectacular vaguely can shape out the rectangle Pryramid with the dusty sandy air. I can hardy see cleary with the air so polluted.

This morning my roommate left at 8ish am for an early breakfast, so she can catch her cruise afterwards. I'd got up at 9ish she came back to wake me up because my tourmates are all waiting for me to have my breakfast. I thought they're all planning to sleep in today but everyone seems to be an early-bird.

We asked the hotel about the taxi ride and the receptionist doesn't seem very helpful. He told me the Limousine ride cost USD20 per one way and the chauffeur can wait up to 3-4hours anytime we are ready to return. ODI and I reacted...wow so expensive . Is there any buses or something cheaper . The receptionist wasn't very happy with our outburst moaning about the cost . Finally, he told us we can get a taxi nearby and we asked how much does it cost for himself taking a taxi from town to this hotel? He replied for me it cost 20 Egyptian pounds...really?
You see how the hotels are trying to rip us off persuading us to take the Limousine it's another those strategy .

We went far out the front gate to catch a mad taxi driver. He offered 30 Egyptian pounds but we stand firm on 20 EP or else no deal the driver gave-up arguing with us and invite us to hop in. He asked us for money already and constantly bugging us to give him money first then he pop on his cassette tape to his player and told us to listen to this song...it's very good song. He was singing, laughing, moving around and hands off wheels trying to clap his hands. He made us play along with him ...we're more worried about our safety. Yikes he is crazy...I hope we get there soon .
There's absolutely nothing to buy in EGYPT except sand bottles. The first shop seems so easy going and gave us a special offer for USD1 per bottle due to our large order. We're all happy and wrote down all the names the ppl we're planning to buy gifts for .
The next shop they Egyptian guy seems a bit down and frowning a lot when we asked him the prices of his sand bottles. We feel sympathetic and he did offered us a lower price than the 1st shop.
Therefore, Daisy brought 3 little bottles and ODI got a bigger bottle. He changed like the weather so happy, joking with us, blowing us kisses, keep on saying "I love all four of you" and then pointing to me I want you ...how many camels do you want? what do I need camels for?
As we strolled down the streets we found out there's so many little shops sending sand bottles and many different shape, pictures and colours ...they all each have their own unique design. Some are really gifted how they blend the colours together and create more beautiful images with the sands.
Our guide announced to us we're leaving the hotel at 1am tonight because the convoy starts at 2am Even the French president couldn't change his destiny...followed the convey no matter what time in the night or day...they're the one that has the authority to open the roads for us to travel. Do we actually have any freedom to choose and who pocket all the convoy money?

Another convoy for 3hours long drive to Huganda red sea to our 2night resort.
A lot of tourmates are already booked for scuba-diving, snokeling cruises and quad biking on the sand dune. I'm not interested in booking any optional activities because I've done many cruises in the past at Whitsunday, Perth and Sydney quad biking. I love to explored the city a little more and 5 of us are planning to take a taxi in town to check out the locals and do some shopping even better!

We went strolling around the beach and found out there's so many types of accomodations, shops and a few hotels are in the same area. The Egyptians are really friendly, down to earth and very eager to learn some cantonese.

Day 2

The 5star Nile Cruise is not exactly my standard as 5Star. It's more like a 3Stars...peering over at Thomas Cook and Movenpick seems more luxury and grand . I'm stuck in this crappy and old looking cruise .

Today optional tour to Abu Simbel...it's only famous because of the Aswan high dam huge reconstruction work and relocation that cost around 40Million USD. Now the two temples is in southern Egypt along the western bank of Lake Nasser about 290km southwest of Aswan.
We had to get up at 2am and drive to the military station for the convey at 3am. We must be escoted by the convoy wherever we go ...or else you won't able to travel through EGYPT. Convoy is operate in fixed time or you will have to pay extra money USD80 per person for a private convoy. There was at least 127 tour bus waiting for the convoy to start moving down the road.

You can choose to travel by air...it only takes 20mins to fly into Abu Simbel regional airport but cost USD178 and by road it cost md USD138.
The EGYPTIAN living in Abu Simbel are likely more well off and the building and environment are much in comfort.

The two temples called, The temple of Ramesses II and The Temple of Nefertari in the commemorate the King's victory battle of Kadesh in the 13th century. Nefertiti means beauty...she is most beautiful Queen of Egypt. I was standing there perceiving how beautiful is she? .

The temples was cut into 2million pieces and it took at least two years to assemble it back into a whole. to be continued

Day 1

My flight left at QR813 0150/0520 leaving HK and transiting in Dohoe for a 3hours waiting time before connecting my fight to Luxor. My tour is one of the 3 designated agent that has this special privilege to fly on this flight to Luxor.

I'd already made a two friends name Daisy and Margaret reporting myself at the airport to the guide. Everyone thinks it's kinda odd a girl like me traveling alone. I do not look like the type of girl that can travel so independenly. My agent was clariflying only one on the tour. Yes...only me

Finally, we have reached Luxor...My guide told us to get a special stamp for entry so we wouldn't be dedained at the airport...unless you are planning to bribe the immigration and customs officer.

Once, we got on the coach there was two bodyguards introduce to us for protection will be escoting us on the trip and one guy carries a gun.

Our first visit was King Karnak Temple....wow it seems so unreal. I'd finally came to EGYPT. The dreamy look stays on my face...i didn't really sleep well on the flight...mind me . The massive structure of the pillars and paintings how the Egyptians interpreted their daily life.
Egyptians believed in god in a form of goat face with a lion body or it could be another type of god animals they will whorshipped.

We continue driving all the way to Aswan to embark on our Nile Cruise for tonight's accomodation ...so excitied !

Our guide has arranged a night tour seeing the locals ...drinking arabric coffee and smoking shisha Hookah pipes (smoking fruit-flavoured tobacco). All the arab mens enjoyed smoking shisha pipes and drinking arabric coffee or mint tea with their buddies at night.
