How to blog?

Blogging and interacting in discussion/communication is the only criterion justifying my existence at AFF. These days I have gone through some (mental, aha) setbacks, soon after I saw some radical blogs/bloggers appeared b4 me by chance.

How to blog is indeed worth of discussion:

Shall we take responsibility as to what we write in the blog, to their genuineness & contents, and not to do personal, national, ethnic attacks? Not to amplify unlimitedly fm one word to a person, fm a person to a nation, etc.?

Shall we organize our blogs into sub-blogs, like: Politics, love, sex, culture, arts, literature, economy, comedy, games? So that readers will not knock at a wrong door grumbling, and bloggers feel more ease when conjure up subjects?

Your hands, please.

Warning: if no good ideas, hopping swallow would stop operation for some self-inspection. Don’t let it down.

(Well, happy weekend, I'll have live music by a returning musician friend. Roamer, home again.)

Dont be afraid to be romantic - what's the most romantic 4U

A blogger (who?) thought man is more romantic than woman, based on that man in the past hundred years has written more poems to woman than woman to man. Sheer twister. There are many historical, social and psychological reasons ascribed to this unbalanced phenomenon. But some facts are:

Man is more afraid to be romantic than woman.

Man wants to be manipulative even in romanticism, pushing aside woman’s romantic will
.

Let’s investigate into what’s romantic, by doing this vote ‒

What’s the most romantic thing for you?
1. Lying, four eyes gazing into each other in the light and shades of night.
2. A moon-night cruise experiencing all sorts of speed and scenery.
3. A wonderful love-making then a delicate wash of you fm head to toe.
4. A candle-lit, delicious dinner and nice gift (for women, some carats of diamond; for men, a thrilling car or jet.
5. A trip at a romantic, exotic place out of home country.

Quote: "Be nice to Americans, or we will bring democracy to your country."

My Imitation: "Be nice to women, or they will bring grace to your space."

Look. Being nice will bring you such (dis)advantage.

Being nice will only be paid back no "nice".

Time to conclude: dont be nice to others, be nice to yourself, the most essential.

Lunar July: Co-existence of Love & Ghost no. 1 - Love

This year we will have two lunar July. That means, two Qixi (on Lunar July 7) and two Yulan Festival (namely ghost festival on Lunar July 14).

Qixi is to memorize and celebrate the love btw a cowherd and a weave-girl. Legend says that weave-girl is a Heaven princess but longs for secular happiness. She comes to human world and marries cowherd. But the Heaven orders her return and separated her fm cowherd w/ a milky way. They linger on, looking in tearful eyes to each other across milky way. They dramatically move the magpies. Each year on lunar July 7, magpies will flock to build a bridge for the desiring couple to meet.

An eternal love that only meet once in a year. Is it enough? Chinese love to sing high of eternity, of love that never dies even when the sea would dry up and the rock would rot. In the far past, yes. And now?

Traditionally, Qixi would see girls gather up b4 a basin of clear water under the moon. They each would throw a needle into water to pray for better workmanship in embroidery. But nowaday? Chinese like better Valentine, roses and chocolates. Below is a famous Tang poem by Bai Juyi parallel this legend to the love btw Emporor Tang Ming Huang and his cocubine Yang:

七月七日长生殿,夜半无人私语时;
On July 7 in Logevity Palace, whispers were heard at the vacant quiet midnight;
在天愿作比翼鸟,在地愿为连理枝.
They wish to be a pair of lovebirds in the sky, on the earth a twinned trunk.

I am very curious why our ancestor put this love festival w/ the ghost festival, in a span of seven days. Who knows?

Pls help turn to no. 2.

Full Moon Party On the Sands

(Well, tight but have to record down though just petties. I've piled up on my desk and brain quite some subjects yet to yield into writing. Tomorrow, always tomorrow, I shant wait for tomorrow.)

Yeah, my prelude and training to the Thai real beach parties, hopefully in Sept.

A stage was set up on the sands, and tables as well. I relaxed like an open bird in the pre-DJed music, feet-nakely. I bet, the only one touching the sands w/ flesh/skin there. At the beginning a full golden golden moon, then shrunk into clouds like a shy girl. Breeze came w/the S. China sea tide sound, ppl chit-chatted. The dazzling lights were casted onto the dance floor. But an unlimited dance floor should be on the soft gritty sands. A dance under the moon! I'd like to invite you. Everyone had its role in the party.

Party sounds a boisterous word, but for me I savored more solitude in crowd while I watched ppl bumping into each other and making friends. I had to amuse myself while they were busy. I ran, trying my momentum on the sands; I danced, swinging off some expression. Who cares who's watching or not? Whose eyes are sharper than the night's?

Funny,a young guy greeted me by saying, "hey, you cant recgonize me?" Kidding childish stuff. But glad that he liked my free dance.

My attempt to block the neon lights' transmission worked, it really stopped for a while. Sitting on the terrace for the last beer overlooking the whole scene and the sea, there was some hope for deeper understanding btw me and the the world. Ppl, from China, Portugal, Saudi, America, buzzed around me. I stayed in my reclusive air but pierced my deliberation and desire into the vast sky.

- a touching story abt the traveling fate of Chinese Relics Treasure of Beijing Palace Museum in 1930's-1940s; an persistent protection by the people on its tough immigrational way under the Japanese shellings

"A subjugated nation can be resurged; the lost culture can't be recovered."

Deeply touched by this saying by a famous Chinese intellectual, I looked into the historical story for this rarely known page.

When a country is under war, apparently the ppl/economy are suffering, like in Lebanon. Even the PM cried for his country. (But sadly, a weak country has no diplomacy.)

We mostly ignore: another thing that is also suffering, or, to such a degree that is being destroyed, is her treasures of relics which stands for her history & culture.

In the American invasion of Iraq, lots of invaluable relics were destroyed by the American bombing and casual looting, incl. very rare ancient Babylon relics.

When the coalition forces (of 8 western nations)in the end of the 19th century invaded into Peking, the Ching Dynasty capital, the imperial garden was burnt and buried together many many treasurable relics. Let alone those taken away and sold abroad. We have one million pieces of such roaming relics in overseas.

I can’t believe you slept with him?

WOMAN:
Are you kidding me?

MAN:
What you mean?

WOMAN:
The Sun is about to explode and you are going to bring that up AGAIN??

MAN:
Yeah, I’m going to bring it up.I don’t give a damn if the Sun is going to blow up.

WOMAN:
You are pathetic! It was two years ago. When are you going to stop punishing me? We are going to die! He’s going to die!

MAN:

WOMAN:
You’re an idiot! We are going to die! He’s going to die! Who cares if he was bigger!

In the middle of Prapinoon
I saw people smile
For they earned one day off and
they were safe.

In the middle of Prapinoon,
Radio and TV tuned on high key,
The cross-sea tunnel and the island jammed, excited

I missed you - some memory of past typhoons -
In the middle of Prapinoon

In the middle of Prapinoon
You swirled in my peaceful sleep
When Prapinoon swirled the world

In the middle of Prapinoon
Some surfer braved the wave
Some got blocked on internet rave

In the aftermath of Prapinoon, the Thai rain god
Five deaths were reported in South China,
plus some temporary cooldown .

(Afterwords: Prapinoon swept over S. China on 3 August, 2006, typhoon signal no. 8 in HK, Mo, GD.)

Gender Bending & Double Chinese Valentine

A friend emailed me a news story covering on line gamers' gender bending - a male plays female avatars and vice versa. They virtually take on the opposite gender's role and vent.

Shall we play this here? It may make some stunning discovery and more understanding of the other sex if we are in their shoes.

I could pretend I was an attractive man and comfort those lonely hearts, send them love massages on July 31&Aug. 30, double Chinese Valentine this year.
