Goths, beer and the smoking ban Hello all It is a Sunday afternoon here in blighty and I am in the cafe writing this. On Friday I went to see Jesus and the MaryChain at Brixton Academy and they were BRILLIANT. After a week of tube strikes and spending way too long getting stressed on buses to get to work; it took me 5 hours on the first day to get in!!! I needed this. It was also the perfect excuse to dress up in my most gothic of attire and look gloomy. So on went the black pencil dress with shiney black waspy (waist corset or girdle), killer high heals and a hell of alot of black eye liner and off I totted on the tube to meet my fate. Two groups of friends who don't really know each other and to be honest did not gel well together was to be expected but I ignored the tensions, eased the 'If your mate don't shut up I'm gonna kick his head in' comments that were flying around about one friend in particular and got on with enjoying the night. J& MC were on fine form and this gig formed part of the comeback tour. All the old favs were there and I was pleased to have 2 lots of tickets. One for seating upstairs and one for standing downstairs so I could move around and dance if I wanted to. However the killer heals were not the best choice and the seating area was very welcome....hahahahahaha I shall have to look out for more gigs now as this reminded me how much I love going to big events. Souixie and The Banshees may be an option but I'm not sure yet. I also have the Anarchists Bookfair coming up next month and there is always a few small gigs afterwards. Pub gigs you know. It was strange though not being able to smoke. I guess as I did not stick to the quitting thing last time I am giving it another go at the end of next week but this time I am doing it with my landlady so it should be better with the support. Strangely I did not miss having a fag whilst I was enjoying the music and I hope I can continue in this. So in all a good weekend. It was good seeing my friends, even if it was a bit tense at times, and well; what can I say... Bring it on poptunes...your going down...hahahahaha |

Mish.... pardon me....but I have been wandering for a long while if that was a huge purple ribbon you are wearing or was it a background that made it seems like you are wearing it.?
