Sister Fukuyu, Finished work late, Supermarket was closed, so Sister Fukumi had to raid the emergency larder and found a "Bombay Baaad Boy Pot Noodle", dropped in a couple of raw eggs and had it with some left-over rye bread.

DarkWolf, fascinating read, I love Cornish Pastie too, but never had a Tiddy Oggie.....is it Cornish? and what does tiddy oggie mean?

Wow...vegetarian

I also can make that! And what mushrooms are you using? I use a lot of mushrooms of different varieties

last night I had Nori Maki. I recieved a lot of nori(seaweed made into paper) from my sister in Japan. I mixed vinegar and sugar to flavor my warm rice. I stuffed it with tuna and the other roll is stuffed with cucumberr and scrambled egg. This morning I sauteed mixed vegies and used sausage instead of meat. I sauteed the minced garlic and crushed ginger, sausage and carrots until the sausage is brown. Then I added the mixed vegies and flavored it with soy sauce and sesame oil.

Tonight......I harvested some cabbages, I planned to make OKONOMIYAKI. I only have to buy pork meat, dried small shrimps, squid, and pizza cheese. also revise my own sauce because there is no such sauce here in my country...maybe use oyster sauce, ketchup and other spices and mix them all together to get my desired flavor. Then top it with cheese, nori and mayonnaise.

DESERT.......maybe get one fresh young coconut from the tree and mix it with cream, condensed milk, cheese, and mixed fruits also maybe add some nata de coco and apples cut into cubes.

What do you think?

That's Sunny-side fried eggs?

You should add mayonnaise, diced onions, tomatoes and lettuce

next time, go to the supermarket during your day-off. Cook something Japanese

    Jalo

i can eat practically anything (japanese, korean, chinese, italian, american, aussie style, etc) except all those "weirdo" stuff: lizards, snakes, crocs, (pls let ur imagination explore by itself).

P/s: The bettle medicine? That was not told by my mom when im having it. Another thing, i was tricked by my sis about the duck's tongue.

I like all kind of soups. Western soups, chinese soups. They are delicious
if you like Japanese food and soups then you also like misojiru or miso soup. I can make good and a lot of variety of Japanese miso soup. That's my specialty.

Talking about those kind of food, authentic food, I can only eat frogs and grasshoppers. I will go to my province to try eat snakes. They say it gives long lasting strength and good for aged people. Well, I am not yet aged but want to stay young........for awhile.

I like cow's toungue!

Congee? YUK! It is not porridge (British) it is an unappetizing rice soup. Some of the other recipes, with exotic names, that I likely will never taste will be amongst my regrets. If you really wish Cornish Pastie recipes ask Nan and I will get at least fifteen recipes for them to her.

Actually the pastie could be universal. I wonder what fillings other cultures would place inside the pastry?

That's true, shipsthat, I often put a Chinese spring roll filling into my pasties and it tastes just as good.

hai, Jay, ogayu or okayu or even ojiya....so many words for the same thing!! and nipponjin being nipponjin they have to have an instant version of congee, i.e ochazuke, lol

Definitely , salted salmon flake topping is fantastic, but there again, it's hard to beat Nagataniya's Wasabi, Nori and Arare Furikake....Mmmm, heaven
