Celebrity Endorsements... in the political arena

I've always disliked it when celebrities (usually actors or musicians) become outspoken on politics and use their 'celebrity clout' (in an attempt) to influence people to vote for their favorite candidate.

Does this jeopardize or further their career?
Maybe in some cases it further jeopardizes their career!

Humanitarian causes... lovely.
Politics... you've crossed the line in my book.

Madonna qualifies for the list. She opened her mouth at a concert this week and was booed by the audience. Singer Meatloaf made a fool of himself as though he was drunk.

Bad taste. When will they learn?

I'll quote my dad on this subject "Oh, shut the hell up!"

I don't hail actors as being any kind of role model in my perspective. they are people who get paid a lot of money for their performance, but it ends at the performance for me.
years ago I met a variety of people in the business, to me they are just people, they do get their ass kissed, because society worships people who have money. this is the result of a society that measures the quality of a person by money.
People are much like sheep, they just follow the crowd and many have no idea which direction they are going, they just move along with the crowd.
some are prone to being 'rebel roused" and will become a "mob in the flash of a moment'. but if they are asked what is their cause, they start to flub every other word and don't know what to say.

People should pay attention to the issue, not just during campaign time, but everyday. We have a media with talk-a-holic's who think they can twist and dictate sound bits and result to distort the truths.

Try and talk to some people about issues and they draw a blank and some get instantly agitated because they can't tie the dots together.
