Frick & Frack

I was a when I heard my parents call 2 goofy acting brothers Frick & Frack.

At the time, It didn't have any meaning to me other than nicknames and I assumed Frick & Frack were some old-time movie stars.

Years ago, a cabinet installation team who I worked with were called Frick & Frack by the manager. These guys were always together and acted kinda goofy. That seemed to fit the description of the 2 boys my parents knew.

Some older things pop in my head (like Cab Calloway and Al Jolson songs) and I'm quick to run to the internet for research, especially YouTube if there's a form of entertainment.

My research showed that Frick & Frack are (were as they are deceased) the professional names of two Swiss skaters who came to the U.S. in 1937. They joined the original Ice Follies show as comedy ice skaters.

These guys were really good. They mastered many skating tricks and used them in their routine.

Naturally... someone was nice enough to post a film of them from 1944 in YouTube.

I'm not posting the link but it's easy to find if you go to YouTube and type in "Frick & Frack"

Old black & white move with some lighthearted entertainment.
