White Primer...

I'm part-way through my home renovation project before my fiance arrives. The master bedroom was painted a dark turquoise/teal for my niece who lived with me for a few years. She's gone and I'm taking the room back!

Since the turquoise is so dark, one normal coat of white primer isn't enough so I applied it very thick and in some places, put two coats.

My volunteered to paint the baseboard and after 1 hour gave up, so the rest is up to me.

I gave my girlfriend every consideration with respect to the color selection. 3 weeks ago we talked about leaving it white and deciding on a color after she arrives. The clock is ticking and I really didn't want her to be in a bedroom with construction going on. Last night on video cam I showed her some samples and we talked about the earth tones of the flooring so he told me it was okay to choose the color.

The guy at the paint department said it was no problem custom blending a color if I thought their selections were too dark. We ended up with a 50% mixture than the manufacturers swatch. I'll describe it as a pale lime that matches the existing flooring.

past, the room is 10' x 10' with a window on the east side. Entry door and closet door.
The baseboard is imbedded flush with the walls. 3/4" shoe moulding that was there before the flooring went in.

Off white paint with a tint to match the floor and white doors with white trim.
White mini-blinds and I haven't decided on curtains/drapes.
The thought of casing the window with fluted moulding, crown and chair rail doesn't fit with the decor.
