It's called Windows 10...

Soon... the complaints about Windows 8 and 8.1 will be over. Well, we hope. There was talk in the industry that Microsoft was working on Windows 9 as a solution to bring back the familiar desktop with start menu that left us after Windows 7.
Windows 9 discussions appears to be old news and updates this week say Microsoft is rolling out what they are calling Windows 10 in a tech preview (beta-testing for experts & IT pros) as rough, unpolished versions for users to try and offer feedback to Microsoft.

This preview appears to be available for download from their website and includes a feedback app you can submit reviews/requests directly to Microsoft.

I'm happy to hear the news and if any of you techie guys get the jump on this, please comment your findings to my blog. Thanks!

enares, that's the problem. Only a small portion of the market was using Windows 8 and 8.1 in a touch screen environment.

I found it frustrating to be on the desktop and want to view a jpg and an app would close the desktop and open a viewer. When I closed the jpg, I had to reopen the desktop. Finding things I did easily on previous versions of windows became a chore with Windows 8.

Quoting lxqizi from a different blog:
"You are using Windows 10 operating system?
Now how are you feeling?
I want to know this thing
Because my desktop computer is broken
I am ready to replace the new
So if the operating system is Windows 10 very good with words
What time to buy in the market to?"

lxqizi,
Windows 10 is not yet for sale. It's currently in testing mode and expected to release sometime in 2015. Microsoft is offering beta versions to try, but I don't have the time right now to download and evaluate it.
