If... I found a cure for CANCER

Think of this concept:
Millions of people could be out of work. As much as we are all saddened by someone who has, had or died from cancer, a whole industry makes their livelihood around it.

What is the reality here? Without sick people, they wouldn't have jobs. The medical field thrives on people afflicted with cancer. As long as I can remember, we always seem to 'be on the verge of a breakthrough' but If suddenly a cure were truly found, they would have no need for cancer programs at Universities. Professors wouldn't be needed. Less doctors would be needed. Less laboratory studies needed. No more money pouring into medical research. No need for radiation or chemotherapy. Medical staff would be cut down sharply. Fewer hospital stays... lower costs to the insurance companies.

The way I see it, a cure for cancer would mean people wouldn't have to deplete their entire life savings seeking medical treatment, often with less than positive results. Less pain and suffering.

On the other side of the issue, hundreds of thousands of people would be looking for work in other medical related fields. Literally, millions of people would be adversely affected by a cure for cancer.

There are many other things 'true doctors" can find to do, because there are many ailments among the masses.
The Cancer Society should be about 'cures" not treatment and release, because cancer needs to be eradicated.
that means many things.
Re-tooling our food industry, re-tooling and managing our textiles productions and everything we have which is man-made will have to meet strict guidelines as to what is allowed to be within the composition of products. Lifestyle changes will be necessary in every imaginable way.

Today, so many things have known carcinogens built within it. as if there is some allowable level that's acceptable. They will have to re-think that whole process.

Currently if we look at the basic of building materials be it for structure and infrastructure, mechanical use and or consumption, these things will have to be managed, which means a strong increase in Regulatory management. No more feeding animals growth hormones, no more injecting plants with toxins that claim one thing and does another.

We have these capabilities, but GREED stands in the way of these massive changes being implemented.

Japan is smart in the sense of their food supply, they DO NOT tolerate the additives and they have no patience for the use of growth hormones being injected in what they eat. They are building smart because of earthquakes, and they can find durable construction material that is without the toxicity levels of the often poorly refined materials we often get imbedded within our building materials.
Even things as simple as 'house carpet" is toxic, but if they manage this with close scrutiny that can be changed as well.
We may no longer need to have any interest in "wal to wall' carpet for any purpose in any place, because it cannot be maintained in the clean and sanitary levels that it would need to be, for it to be non toxic to human beings.
If you note in futuristic models, there is no carpet, it is glass, steel, stone that compose their structure, and any paneling can be made of only a select blend of materials that do not seep toxicity over time.

We may see some interesting things, when some of these war torn areas are rebuilt, because the opportunity to use clean materials will be a readily available options as we move to become a more green society as a whole across the globe.
