Garden update...

I was asked how my garden was going and the answer is GREAT.
We have already harvested tomatoes and it looks like those other things are growing well too!
the weather 2 weeks ago was really cold, some parts about 2 -3 hours north of me had near freezing temperatures. The first and second cold night we covered most of the garden with bedsheets, large sheets of lightweight plastic and sticks to keep them above the vegetables. Everything was fine. Last Saturday, it rained all day and the garden looks much taller now!

We had enough home-grown tomatoes this week that we didn't buy any from the market.

We quickly outgrew the twigs and bamboo poles. Today, I got some 1x2's from Home depot (not pressure treated lumber) and cut them in half. That will do for the jungle we've already created.

Foots... I'm with you on the chicken wire and lumber and have some left over chain link fence from an earlier project. I'll try that for the newer plants of tomatoes.

Also, we're planting (more) corn, spinach, snow peas, sunflower and some other seeds that we bought today.

My mango tree is at the beginning of the season. The fruit is only about 5mm now but in a few months we are expecting 300-350 tasty mangoes.

I might make myself a garden this year.
