Deleting blog comments... Typically, I don't delete blog comments. Only when it's inflammatory or totally off-topic do I make a comment disappear and that's happened less than 5 times in the past 3 years. If you want to say something stupid that calls attention to yourself... you have my permission, however, it's recommended you create your own blog for this. On other blog sites, any person who creates blogs is also responsible to police the activity on their blogs... self-moderation for the work you do. That gives the site administrators more time to chase (and delete) bogus profiles and not use valuable time cleaning up (or censuring) blogs. Some people spend lots of time researching topics to blog about and the last thing they need is a 'blog killer' bringing negativity to their work. In closing, that's my opinion on the subject and in many cases, blogs are an expression of one's opinion. Since few people comment to blogs and fewer people actually blog, it would be a nice incentive to have more activity here especially since we are limited in the means of communication on this free site... Let's not create a hostile environment that chases new (and old) members away with harsh comments. |
