Oh... don't forget the teeth


Last week, I blogged about cremation because bodies don't turn to the soft powdery dust as seen in many Hollywood movies.

Telling this story to a friend, he told me he had seen a documentary on cremation and they used a dual chamber oven that go to 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The body was resting on a perforated screen and the burned particles fell through the screen into the lower collection chamber. The teeth (and any dental work that didn't melt) along with bones remained on the top section had to be crushed.

Yeah... teeth. We forgot about those things.
