Dough-Re-Mi-Fa-So-Loud-Ti-Do...

I sold some unused amateur radio hardware 2 weeks ago and decided to use a little of the money for a guitar practice amp.

Looking around I thought 20 watts with a 10" speaker was enough, but it was lacking power. The store I bought it from has an easy return policy and allowed me to exchange it for a 35 watt amplifier with a 12" speaker. Since they didn't have any new ones, I took the floor model.

Always in a hurry, I didn't try it out and went to an appointment before heading home. Checking it out, there is a hum coming from it... obviously damaged or defective. I phoned the store and they didn't have any more in stock, probably for a week or two.

I phoned the other store (they are a national company with 10 stores in Florida) and they will accept the amp in exchange for the one I 'really' want.

I used to play music professionally... sure, it was a generation ago, but I underestimated the need for more power. This weekend, I expect to arrive home with the model that has 120 watts and two 12" speakers.

Why? because (in the music business) bigger is better!

It's more than 3 times the cost of the little practice amp and sufficient in power to play any small venue if I get invited to play with some of my musician friends.

Who knows... ♪♫♪♫
