Loosing your head over fireworks...

Every year, we hear stories about people injured or killed from fireworks accidents. This Independence Day celebration was no different.
A 22 year old man in Maine decides he wants to launch a mortar tube from the top of his head and despite warnings from friends. That didn't stop him and he was killed instantly.

My wife and I went to Hollywood beach to see the fireworks display. All the cities along the coast have similar displays where they have a barge off-shore and smaller boats around the perimeter as a safety zone to stop people from coming near the barge.

30 minutes of non-stop fireworks along with music and crowds of people.

I think one should visit PROFESSIONAL DISPLAY PRESENTATIONS, people seem to forget these are 'basically 'EXPLOSIVE DEVICES", not only are they not for children, they should be limited to professionals, or there needs to be mandatory training video's required, before purchase is allowed.

It's not long ago when the small town any family shoot off these things, people forget many properties are more than 50 yrs old, and highly susceptible to quickly ignite and burn down structures.

I generally am happy when the fireworks time is over-- we have too many homes that have pine straw in their yards and some have over dried grass from heat in their yards.

People need to think in terms of broader - "RESPONSIBILITY".
