Eat talk and drive...

The most amazing thing happened this weekend.

I was behind a car that 2 of the 3 brake lights weren't working, so I changed lanes and moved up alongside the car to signal to the driver to let them know about it.

Imagine how dangerous that would be to get rear-ended because the person behind you didn't realize you were stopping.

That would be questionable if the officer investigating the accident would give a ticket to the driver of the car with the faulty brake lights. Because of this, the person rear-ending the car in front would actually be able to fight the accident in court.

Okay... I'm up to the car but I'm unable to get the driver's attention.
Why?
Because she has a cellphone pressed between her head and left shoulder and eating a sub sandwich with her left hand. If that's not enough, at least twice her right hand came off the steering wheel to tear back the paper the sandwich was wrapped in.

This went on for more than a mile and I backed off as we were approaching an emergency vehicle on the right side. The car next to me slid into my lane (without signalling of course) and sped up after making a right turn to get away from me.

I think that's a first for me... Eat, talk and drive... coming to a town near you!

Yes, I had enough time to record it on my cellphone.

It's sad, last Saturday, a guy was driving a truck and eating, and swerved into my lane and I don't think it even registered on his mind that he was doing so.
I teach Defensive Driving every month, and its amazing the things people do and the things they have not thought about being of concern for.
I don't teach it the traditional way, I interject a lot of life principles and discuss the value of life and many other things. So far all my attendee's have come to me after class and expressed their appreciations.
