The Bronx... I was listening to a documentary of an actor who was born in the Bronx. It sounds so odd referring to Bronx as THE Bronx. Really. He was born in Bronx, New York. I live in Miami and not The Miami. Maybe people live in Chicago and not The Chicago. Doing some research didn't get the answer I'm looking for as to why people call Bronx, The Bronx. |

If you say "She is Chinese" To me it's a complete statement. If you say "She is a Chinese" To me it's not a complete statement. I'm thinking 'a Chinese what?' That could be a Chinese person, a Chinese doctor, a Chinese movie star.
