One flick... three blinks...

I traded a 13 year old Toyota Celica for a Hyundai Veloster just over 2 years ago. Most of the electro-mechanical things on older cars have been replaced with computerized sensors.

If modern technology can make things work better (and not do it because it's cheaper) I say 'Go for it!'

It took some time getting used to the newer things as I felt around half of the items had been improved, while the others took a step backwards.

One thing I noticed is there's no finesse with computerization. It either is... or it isn't. The turn signal on the old car did exactly what I wanted it to do. If I wanted the indicator to blink once, I touched the arm and it blinked once.

In the new car, the slightest touch guarantees 3 blinks. Annoyed? I was.

Over the course of 2-1/2 years I've had the opportunity to drive six other late model cars of different make and model and found all did the same thing! Regardless of make and model, they act the same. A touch of the turn indicator made the lights blink 3 times. It's like all the car manufacturers got together and decided what specifications cars would be built to.
