How to rotate a potato...


They say the success to any garden is to rotate your vegetables. I'm not sure of the exact reason, but I think it has to do with depletion of the soil by growing the same thing in the same location. I have read that also crop-specific diseases carry over from season to season. Potatoes and tomatoes for example, tomatoes should not be planted after potatoes because deadly late blight can overwinter in potatoes that might have been missed and remain in the soil. That advice also goes for eggplant and peppers.

I wonder who they use the eggplant as a plural. I'm thinking it should be eggplants.

Anyway, that's some farming advice on rotating your potato.
