Fortune cookie... I'm told the Chinese really don't have fortune cookies and that is really something they started with Americans. Yesterday, I was running errands and decided to stop for lunch at the Chinese buffet. Before I was married, I used to visit there often. I did the take out plan where the food you select is weighed and you only have to pay for that. No minimum. I think there is a limit if you only try to take lobster or the baked salmon. Anyway, I got 2 trays of food and received 2 fortune cookies with my order. Since it was enough food for two days, I read one yesterday that read: "Every exit is an entrance to a new experience" Tonight I had the other meal and the fortune cookie read: "Dreams are like the stars of your destiny" I consider it advice and not really a fortune... kinda like those lines as we were told were written by Confucius. Remember those Confucius jokes? Some samples: Confucius said "Girl who makes love on hill is not on the level" Confucius said "Opera is the only place where a guy gets stabbed and instead of bleeding, he sings" Confucius said "It's ok to let a fool kiss you, but don't let a kiss fool you" Confucius said "It takes many nails to build a crib, only one screw to fill it" . |
