Apple slowed down your older iPhones...

If you believe your iPh is running much slower now than a few ago when you bought it, you're probably right.

In the news this week, the apology came through that Apple has been slowing the performance of phs with older batteries.
To compensate for the negative user backlash, they have lowered the price of battery replacements until December 2018.

While the damage has been d, the Apple statement:

“First and foremost, we have never and would never do anything to intentionally shorten the life of any Apple product, or degrade the user experience to drive customer upgrades,” the statement read. Apple also insisted that it designs iPhs to “last as long as possible.”

Never degrade the user experience... ??
I can only imagine how many new iPhs they sold because they had no idea their performance had been throttled back.

Seriously, I believe this is only the 'tip of the iceberg' for the mavens of marketing with their shady business tactics.

People should be allowed to trade in any upgrade and get a refund, for every phone that was traded in because it had been "maliciously" slowed down. I bet when they finish paying out that large sum... they will stop playing games with people.

I think no phone should be sold without the ability to add, "external memory", and they should make means to "increase the ram" also.

All phones should have the means to "replace the battery"... without companies putting in "inferior batteries" just to rack up profit from selling batteries.

There needs to be "ETHIC" in business. Hopefully the younger generation "demand an higher ethical standard"...

I don't particularly like the phones that take video with those large blacked out sides. "what's the point"?

Now days, I won't choose a phone model that has no means to change the battery, nor do I want one that has no means to expand the memory.

The problem with replaceable batteries is the difficulty making the phone water resistant. You can generally get 2-3 years on a battery with heavy use, longer for occasional use. Sending a phone back to the manufacturer (or factory authorized repair) is no less than a week for turnaround.
One store I deal with has a loaner, but it's generic and no personal information gets transferred to it. Unless you are able to backup your system, you are risking a total loss of data should something get lost in transit or accidentally wiped when they do the service.
