Politics (Election date Nov 06, 2012)

Politics and Religion are very sensitive and controversial. Good friends can have different opinions. I am a Democrat and basically have same concepts of "Women's Choice" (I was born and raised in Catholic family and went to church very often for my first 30+ years), "Stem cell research", "Green Environment" (renewable energy, clean energy such as Nature Gas, Wind Turbine, Solar... ), I also agree with Obama using "Drone" high-tech surgically killed enemies instead of sending lots of troops to mid-East (it waste money and lives), and 1% of rich people should pay more percentage tax at this financial difficulty time.

I have an impression that Republicans are rich and in Wall Street stock market (Las Vegas Sands CEO is the highest donor to Republic party) and Democrats are poor people. Democratic party always won in East and West coasts but lose in the center states of the continent. California always vote for Democratic presidents (except Ronald Reagan??). There is delegates ballots in each state, so election is complicated. I was NOT born in this country, so you know better than me. I only said what I have observed and my personal opinions.

I don't fully understand ObamaCare health insurance, so I can't say anything that I don't know. I don't have health insurance and NOT qualify for Medicare due to my age. Republicans attack ObamaCare. My will be a MD in the future, they say MD income will be decreased because ObamaCare.

In the first debate, Obama looked too weak, he nodded his head when Romney was speaking. In the 2nd debate, the town hall meeting, I was afraid both candidates would have physical conflicts. Romney attacked Obama too aggressively. In the 3rd debate, both candidates sat down side by side is more peaceful.

I like Joe Biden's and Bill Clinton's speeches in the Democratic party Rally. They spoke very powerful words for Obama. I feel Republicans are very religious people, George W. Bush and Mitt Romney. I am an Agnostic and have doubt about existence of God. To me, when you are in USA the majority people are Christians or Catholic (Romney is Mormon), in China or Asia, people believe in Buddha, in mid-East, Allah is their God for Muslim/ Islam, in India, most people believe in Hindu, in Israel, they are Jews. There are atheists, and agnostics too. You can't force all the people believe in ONE religion.

Someone told me don't discuss politics in writing, the words might come back to hurt me. However, U.S. Constitution said "Freedom of speech, religion and press), so I am just express my personal opinions. We will know who win the election by Nov 6, 2012 night.

p.s. I watched CNN last night for "Efficiency of Energy". It talked about many sources of energy, Wind Turbine, Solar panels, Cheniere Energy "Hydraulic Fracking" for Natural Gas, Nuclear reactors, fossil fuels (oil, coal,...). We have billions cars on the road worldwide and electricity consumption daily, we need to think about "efficiency of energy". There is a guy who own a "Green House" and all his electricity, nature gas and water are self provided and that guy even invented "Carbon fiber motorcycle helmets". He is very smart. Amazing !!

the lines are far thinner than one would believe on the person to person level.
although, in the language of the law, the lines may be defined, but it still is "people" who administer those laws.

We saw that clearly in the past campaign. Romney and Ryan's stand on abortion as well as their stand on the Right Wing claiming to be the voice of the Religious Right. Even in the comments some Right Wing congressmen made about and other positions they pushed in their agenda.

Many people in foreign lands as yourself, can and do see the things I'm speaking about. Yet, in many blogs I write on in the web portals, the minute some of these items are mentioned or discussed, there are many 'right wing" whites who will immediately claim none of it is true. I'm not swayed by such denials. Because this nations has always been filled with denials from those who have benefited from the use, mis-use and abuse of others.
many of such ones are angered to even think of equality, and certainly they become furious if there are any plans and programs in place to promote equality.
Their first claim is - someone is trying to take something from them', because they have never had the mindset to realize that shared prosperity is the only means to prosperity strengthening a nation and 'all" its people.

Today, there are many many white people, who don't care for nor do they want to support the bigotry of racism and the ignorance that promotes racism. This changes a bit the higher up the income ladder ones communicate. Because the well to do have many pockets of resistance and they not only aren't interested in minorities prospering, they are not much interested in seeing poor whites prosper.
People forget too easily what they should learn from. during the 1980's the Japenase was the darlings of America, mainly because Japan was dominating the economic spectrum, their car companies had ramped up, they made many of the gadgets that Americans buy.. but when the trade imbalance changed and Japan was on top, and they began to look to function with a level of equality in considerations. Not only did the Japense find out that all the marquee properties they bought, they lost when the market was crashed and the Japanese were forced to sell for nickles on the dollar. To date Japan did not recover, especially when not only other nations, but Japan mis read the situation and sent its Industry to China too.
Now the Chinese are the New Darlings of America. It did not happen to become so, until the Chinese were the powerhouse of industry and had the greater supply of UN-comitted cash.
this will change too, because there are many many places with cheaper labor and many valuable resources.. some of those nations will soon become the New Darlings.

What I do think it - with Obama in office, one thing will certainly be different, and that is he will push for more diplomacy, and better respect for those whom we invest to transfer industry and build their economies.
a new wave of change is about to take place in the minority communities, many of these communities got lost in the 'quick change' games, and when such things happen it takes 20-25 years for the change to move into a different mode. We have met the 25 yr threshold and the changes are already taking place.
We will see a different embrace also of the Latin population and they will bring change as well.

The program of the 2008 election is coming more and more in focus, it did good to make some changes during the turbulence of the cycle of economic challanges, but this tide is set to turn. the obstructionist of the last 4 years can't afford to obstruct for another 4 years, so they have not only get in line and work with everyone else, they have to change their ideology or their party will perish, the people will not accept a pretense nor a sham, it will be a real change or a downfall for the right wing.
Finally people are coming to learn the vile of a plutocracy and they have and will continue to fight against such taking control over the nation and its people.
the waste the robbery and the excessive vanity of greed is no longer the icon of life for people. The same transformation that people saw in the 1960's, the young today find they don't need the excesses. they want their time, and they want to be free to grow... unencumbered by banks and other institutions. America is undergoing a great and well needed change.

many many white people did not vote for Romney, because they understood his Policies were not good for the whole of American people.

Most the Rural Area Whites voted Romney, along with the over 60 whites in many areas. he spent his time pushing the Ideals of the 1950's, of which many in the over 60 white society grew up with. They still see and wanted to see a white dominated America.
Many young whites don't buy into that, especially those living in urban area with some level of quality in their educational background.
Blacks, Latin and Asian people have had enough racism and prejudice enacted against them over many decades, they can read through the covert means that people want to prolong and push an agenda with racist implications. many of the same Black, Latin and Asian people are also aware of the impediments they face in the economic equilibrium pursuit.
In this nation there are still many areas where Black, Latin and Asian people simply are not considered for the leadership position or the higher pay position and many times, they can rise no higher than to be a subordinate of a white director or leaders of industry, both in private and public sectors jobs.
Among each group there are a small % who have gained some economic ground, but in any city across this nation, many poor Blacks, Latin and Asian can be found and many know the challenges which stand before them. This nation loves to talk about Asian and Education, but you don't see that many Asian with any CEO positions of National companies, Across this nation, the fortune 500 is predominantly filled by white males and what is mostly left is given to white females.
This is the landscape of American Economic Employment positioning.

People see it.

either way it goes, whether it gets the plan now or later. it will pan out.

If it takes the shock of a fall, before the wealthy realize they can't gouge the nation and ship away jobs, and expect the bulk of the people to cover it.
What people must realize is, it was Taxpayer Money that bailed out the Gamblers in Banking's collusive games. and the wealthy walked away with the Money and then stashed it offshore and held the people as they continue to try to do, as hostage to garner even more tax breaks for themselves.
All during Bush Presidency, all the Republican cried about was more and more tax breaks. Eventually, America became broke, the debt clock was broken and what we found was a mass of people made homeless and schools challenged and people reduced to low paying clerk jobs.

Nope, there is no yielding to extend any tax break and certainly not to allow any capital gains without tax increase on such.

We as people knew these variable when the votes were cast. And the Populous of votes both the total and the electoral votes, supported this position.
Currently, the Republican system does not have the power to push the agenda they attempted to push. They have insulted a great many Americans and much has been exposed in the process.

Sadly, it appears that it takes shock and awe to wake up the people, and maybe the cliff is what is necessary. I don't see much to fear if they don't make a deal by the end of the year. Because we have to re-vamp much anyway, so to avoid the trips, go over the cliff... Then the negotiation with the rich about tax is over. then craft legislation that gives the tax breaks to the working masses, and make sure that no collusive means is within the bill which will lend it to becoming hostage to anything.

Republican should know, they are in a no win situations, in their effort to protect the wealthy, because doing nothing will certainly achieve the aims of increasing the taxes on the wealthy.

One thing that won't go away is the vile in the hearts of some who cling to the bigotry and racist summations about the minorities, the poor whites will emerge in full disclosure as to how many truly get public services, and that may well put to rest the delusion that minorities are the high users of these programs. When facts have always held that whites use these benefits 4:1 above minorities.
If it takes going over the cliff to get the truths out, then we will go over the cliff, But it is not what people think it is.
One thing that will come out of it, is more acts and efforts to reign in the wilds of banking and wall street.. and this is truly needed.

Romney lost the election because he offended Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, ... about all the minority ethics but White. Even then, all the gays and lesbians voted for Obama.

Anyway, the election is over, we should unify as ONE nation to fight for "fiscal cliff" and "national debt". The bipartisan parties should compromise each other or "meet in half way" to solve the problems. No more pointing fingers whom is to be blamed. I hope the two parties can come out with a plan BEFORE Christmas. Time is running out.

Much of change is in the air... the goal of all parties should be to get American productive, maintain its provisions to provide assistance to those who truly need it, and continue refining and defining our programs and support the progress to make them better for American people.

The money wasted over 12 yrs of war is more than enough wasted, we still have war cost that will haunt us for the next 20 years. But we have to turn our focus to have the passion to invest to the same degree in America as we invested in War... and stop whining about what it cost to rebuild ourselves as a nation.
Maybe this time we will respect what we build and not let the greed of a few destroy it so easily as what happened over the past 40+ years.

when America over comes bigotry and vile racism, it will prosper.. it has to realize it was the choices driven by bigotry and racism that took this nation down and that process was put in over-drive more than 50 years ago. it spent so much effort and mechanized processes of collusive activity, to ship away everything that built this nation. But now, it has learned that no nation can prosper without maintaining and managing its own industry on its own soil.
America got too elite minded, and thought it could sustain only the wealthy by having them shuffle paper from other nations and build monopolies on foreign soil.. and keep the money among the paper shufflers... the Plantation Master Program simply did not work, the delusion of looking around the globe for slave labor on foreign soil did not work...
but American should have learned that seeking slave labor never worked and it was an insult to the dignity and stability of the nation.. This lesson should have been learned when the Civil War claimed to have ended slavery and indentured servitude.
maybe this time around, America will learn.. it has to respect all its people, and it must not continue to allow the wealthy to continue to try and recreate the plutocracies of the old Confederate Modeling.

Florida on Saturday, 11/10/2012, finished counting votes cast in Tuesday's U.S. presidential election, and President Barack Obama won the state, according to the Associated Press. Obama had 50% of the vote to Mitt Romney's 49.1%, a margin of about 74,000 votes, the AP said. The win in Florida gives Obama a 332 to 206 final margin in the Electoral College, and means Obama won eight of nine of the "swing states." Obama won the Electoral College and re-election on Tuesday without Florida's 29 electoral votes.

    Quoting 1ClassyLady:
$50,000 per person fundraiser for Mitt Romney. $50,000 is my 5 months "Gross Income" (before 35% tax-withheld), when I worked full time pharmacist job. I have a 86 y/o mom and 2 college children to take care. No way, I will NOT pay any political donation. I am NOT poor to qualify any government welfare benefits, nor rich to donate $50,000 for a plate. I am a typical middle class 35% taxpayer. Romney pays 14%.

WHAT'S NEW Robert L. Park Friday, 1 Nov 2012 Washington, DC

1. THE ROMNEY TAPE: AM I TOO OLD TO ENLIST IN THE CLASS WAR?
I don't think anyone has a problem figuring out where I stand on
science, religion or politics, but a month ago I watched the now notorious "Romney
tape." Surreptitiously recorded at a $50,000-a-plate fundraiser for Mitt Romney, held in the palatial Florida residence of one of his
supporters, it was deeply disturbing. The Mitt Romney on that tape, openly sharing his
plans for the presidency and his contempt for the ordinary wage earner is
unknown to the general public. Why don't we withhold our vote? Who would notice?

Religion is of many things, and the essence of God is quite different, it is principle, which many who use religion to distort the premise of Gods truths.

man chooses to build home in areas that may not have been the best selection for building homes. because man looks at money, and cheap deals on land, long before he considers to care about the natural changes which are part of the earth and its atmosphere.

There are people who build homes, '"Right Below A DAM", then wonder why they are washed away when the dam breaks. It's a known fact that water runs down hill, but some people build homes in 'Valley's surrounded by very high mountains, or snow drifts and wonder why calamity happens.

Mankind makes many choices without regards to the information that is available. money can and does make much madness.

a person who wants a beach front home, because the wealthy say its the thing to have, ignore the rise of the Ocean or the thrust from a Storm surge, and wonder why they get washed away. Yes, some of it looks good, but the perils are already built in by the time they put the shovel in the ground.

Why blame God, man must know that man has no control over nature, nor the shifting of the earth's plates. but we as mankind build anyway.

As to the Presidential Race, I've seen nothing Romney pose other than devising a means to make profit his highest priority without regard to many many many things. If he is so concerned about Americans and work, then he should have thought about that when he was buying and crashing companies trying to capitalize on the 'break up value profits" he had his sights set on. and then capitalize on tax credits for exporting the remains to foreign shores. He detest the same Unions that respect and stand to protect workers rights from greed masters such as himself.
anyone who propose anything to place hardships and challenges to the senior citizens has not place in any leadership as far as I'm concerned. I have no regard for his policies nor his methods.

I had same blog "Religion" on SFF (Senior). The reactions there were very dramatic and attacked me. They think I am a monster that don't believe in Christ. Yes, my religion belief is provocative for some people. But actually it is very simple.

If God is mighty, you don't need to build church, temple, synagogue, or mosque to worship God. God doesn't need money, people need money. Church want you to donate money or pay tithe in the name of God but actually for people.

If God is so mighty, why didn't he stopped the earthquake, tsunami, hurricane, or crime before or during the time. Everything will happen as it should. Scientist can explain why earthquake and tsunami happened and meteorologist can predict hurricane. Bible was written by human. I don't study Bible.

As far as election, I am NOT big fan of Obama, but I believe in the same theories of Democratic party. I especially like "Green energy" wind turbine, solar panel and natural gas, but don't like fossil (oil, coal, ...) which will pollute our earth. Romney likes coal as he said in first debate. So, you know whom I will vote for.

I have traveled to Utah and visited "Mormon Temple Square" 3 times. They have a very magnificent temple but I am NOT interested in their religion. I don't donate any money or tithe to any religion.

I didn't donate money to Africa because I am NOT sure the money will really go to the people who needed. I donated my Mazda MPV mini-van (7 seats) to blind society. Someone came to my house to pick it up and said "Thank you for your donation. Blind people need transportation". He gave me a receipt and told me I can claim $3,000+ from Blue Book value to donation. Yes, I claimed that donation. This is my principle of donation - Donate to the people who needed the most. I don't give any money to church. I don't listen to their dogmas either.

I am NOT religious person and NOT donate anything to church. I donate to cancer or blind society to help unfortunate people. I won't help rich or organized religion/ church. I make sure whom I donate to. I once donated my mini-van to blind people. My daughter donated her long hair to cancer society and she work volunteer for Red Cross. I donated $100 each kid to school for Red Cross on 9/12/2001, a day after that terrorist attack. Church won't get any money from me. I don't bribery God.

I also very fascinate about "Green Energy" such as Wind turbine, Solar panels, Nature Gas, .... but don't like fossil fuels (oil, coal, ...) that will pollute our earth. (Romney likes coal)

Tax churches if they don't spend 60% of their take on social programs that benefit the community without cost to the recipients who receive the help !!!
Tax them like they are corporations. I believe in God and I believe in the spirit of Gods Teaching, but nothing said Churches had to be massively wealthy institution that are not mandated to make social usage of their intake.

I bet you impose taxes on these churches if they don't have quality social programs, suddenly, you will see them will open up those community centers and staff them too. And also Tax the income the Preacher gets !!!

Nothing has been done to hurt the middle class by President Obama during this current Administration, what has hurt Middle class is the Republican Obstructionist politics.
they wanted to block peoples unemployment when the job situation was at its worst point, they stood in the ways of jobs bills, they got in the way when the Banking Reforms tried to go further, they tried to block the lowering of college loans, they tried to uphold Insurance companies gouging people and then denying to pay, they got in the way when Mortgage relief programs were put in place by Obama's administration.
You name it the Republican have tried to Obstruct it.
The Republican hold hostage the tax cuts to the middle class, that is why Bush Tax cuts were extended, Now Republican want to block tax cuts remaining for the middle class, because they want to extort a tax cut for the wealthy.
Republican are standing in the way of cutting subsidies to oil companies, The land for drilling was tied up by oil companies, until Obama told them, use it or loose it.

I'm amazed at how absent minded and selective Amnesia Republican have.

They even squawk about the debt, when there was no way to uplift the economy without taking on Debt, not when Bush BROKE THE DEBT CLOCK and wrapped us in wars that cost more than 50 billion a month, and this does not count the expense of caring for the wounded veterans, nor does it count for the political cost in ways we have yet to discover.

Republican Governors have gridlocked as much of the Stimulus programs as they could, and some colluded it to the point they only wanted to award contracts to their good ole boy network.
We are still strapped with the long term contracts Bush and Cheney made with Haliburton and Blackwater Goons Squads. We have massive rip off contracts all across the Middle East set in place by Bush and Cheney.
Obama got Bin Laden, and he did not blow up two countries to do it, he did what he said, and he is sitll doing what he said, and that is being smarter about how we get out of war, than how we got into it.

He has challenged China on its unfair practices, and other nations are not following suit.
Under Bush, we saw oil go up 700% under Bush, because his whole pursuit was Oil, and as a result we are paying through the nose for a BBL of oil. Bush is sitting some place counting his money.
anyone in their right mind would not vote for some voucher for Medicare, when Insurance cost about 12,000.00 a year, and they want to give people a voucher worth $6,000.00. where in the heck are people going to get the money to pay the rest.

Bush and Cheney tried to privatize Social Security at the same time they tried to sell our Ports Management to Dubai.. Haliburton moved its headquarters to Dubia because they don't have extradition for the wrong that will eventually be uncovered.

Romney and Ryan believe in the "Tea Party" racism of " white people want back control of America"... they think they can take us back to the 1950's.

People are blinded by wanting a white president so bad, they can't see the bad policy of Romney, nor can they see the arrogant greed of him.
He said on THREE OCCASION that he does not have concern for the poor, yet people want to dismiss it, because they want a white face in the white house so bad, they give him a pass on such a disastrous
disregard for the challenged in this nation.

About the only thing Romney will accomplish is getting half this nation burned to the ground with his politics. He will inflamed the International community to the point he would create World War III, because he has a arrogant disrespect for people in other nation, and only see them in terms of cheap slave labor, and then he wants to dictate to these nations, and Today, these nations simply are not going to tolerate it.

He went to Europe and insulted them during the Olympics, with his brash arrogance. but America has too many people who have ' vision of a White Run American in their mind so deeply, until they can't see the many shades of grey that make up what is America.

I am a middle class taxpayer. My tax withheld is 35% of my income. I have property, so I paid property tax, mortgage interest and charity donations which all in the "schedule A" deduction. I still need to pay more taxes even after schedule A deduction and Federal and state withheld taxes.

I am an Agnostic and if God is so mighty, he doesn't need human to build beautiful and expensive church, temple, mosque, ... to worship him. We can pray to God anywhere including your own bedroom. Why Romney need to pay 10% tithe to his religion? Why NOT donate to Africa to save those people who need water and food so desperately? I mean that donation can be deduct from income is Okay, but how and where you donate for charities rather than for church. Church are very rich already. That's my point.

I appreciate all the responses to my blog here. Thank you.

I don' understand what's wrong with that real estate billionaire, Donald Trump. First, he asked Obama's birth certificate long form, then had a big announcement few days ago asking for Obama college diploma or certificate. What's matter with him? He is NOT even a presidential candidate. He is NOT helping Romney for that crazy announcement.

According to Romney income tax released that he made $21.7 millions in 2010 which I have to work full time pharmacist job for 180.83 years for 1 year he made. Donald Trump is famous real estate investor who also wants to pay less tax bracket. Rich people want to pay less tax and get more money. Is that it?? They are so out of touch.

Mormon have to donate 10% of income to church that's why Romney donated to his Mormon church to wipe out his income tax to the lower tax bracket. I donate my dresses, children wear, children toys, my aquariums, my barbeque stove, even a mini-van .... to charity too. I do what I can.

Warren Buffett, on the other hand, is much down-to-the-earth rich guy who also donate his money to the poor countries where the money can save lives. Mr. Buffett also agree to pay more tax bracket than his secretary.

Don't forget this financial crisis started from Bush era to begin with. It needs time to get back to normal again. So, I think we should give Obama more time.

most want to ignore the high cost i takes to try and shore up and bring this country back to some economic stability, many have selective Amnesia, about the dire conditions the last Republican Administration left this nation.
I wrote on here about the mess Bush Created, I continued to write in the Magazine about the fact that by the time he would leave office, that we'd be in economic collapse.. and that is what came to be. I also wrote about how his policies and the games of the wealthy and the collusion of Wall Street, the fact that oil went from under $20 to over $147 under Bush, I wrote about the Real Estate collapse and all such things.. all the while another writer tried to tell me that I was wrong, but fact and truth of what resulted, showed that I was not.

people try to pretend they don't know what it takes to fix a mess like that, when 100's of Trillions of dollars of value was wiped out, and yet people think it can be fixed for free. That was not and is not even logical.
Things are not equated in billions anymore on a national scale, it is equated in Trillions.. therefore , the debt looks different because people have not wrapped their mind around the fact that it has to be equated in Trillions, because billions and 100's of billions are common in the business transactions of today.
For the expense incurred, we have done well, yet it should take more and it may take more, but the process of growth is what we should focus upon, and not become blind and choose austerity. Austerity has never grown anything but more Austerity.
Obama is on the right path and if we get over selective Amnesia, it will be apparent.

Good that you voice your views, one thing is for sure, you have been paying attention to the issue. There are many that get caught up in the drama and miss the point, THIS ELECTION IS ABOUT THE ISSUES".

Republican process is aiming to protect the wealthy while it strips the support system from the vast majority of challenged Americans. If we allow Republican process to proceed, we will find ourselves indentured to Industry in odd ways and caught into another loop of the wealthy looting this country into another cycle of collapse. Greed knows no bounds, nor does it respect any limits.
A nation should be about it's people, not primarily about the wealthy. The Right he nearly turned us into a Plutocratic system, the wealthy trying to buy the election, they have no message, other than ever other word is, slamming Obama, instead of them talking about the details of their program they expect to win solely on a 'slam Obama" platform.
the sad state of the Republican Convention told a great story, 'they have no program, other than to support the wealthy at the expense of the general public.
