How was your 2014?

2014 almost come to the end. How was your 2014?

The world has been a tumultuous, chaotic, unrest year in 2014. From the brutal ISIS, Ebola outbreak, Malaysia airline lost 2 airplanes, shipwreck in Korea, the war in between Israel and Hamas, the conflicts in between White cops and Black young in USA, .... bad news kept coming.

Let's hope 2015 will be a peaceful year !!

I read BBC News that 3 men presumed dead (included a Sydney MD) in Mount Cook and Sydney bushfire fears, the temperature can rise to 34C or even as 38C high. Sydney firefighters are busy to put off bushfires.

38 x 9 = 342 / 5 = 68.4 + 32 = 100.4F

OMG, as hot as summer in California, over 100F.

I need to prepare shorts, swimming wear, sunscreen lotion, insect repellent, and a big hat,.....

Time will tell, who is right and who is wrong.
I have made profits on Bio-tech stocks, CELG, GILD, REGN and BIIB.
High-tech stocks AAPL, TWTR, YHOO,
For Travel stock: I made profits on PCLN.
For the whole market trend, SPY.

I don't do "day trade" or "buy and hold". I am a swing trader.

I normally don't like commodities either. This time OPEC surprisingly didn't cut production and created a "selling frenzy". We have billions and billions car run by OIL on the streets. Crude oil won't go to zero. My banker friend bought "nature gas" instead of oil. I have few shares of GLD which is the ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) for gold.

danairozo198 and SF Harley Rider:

Bulls make money, Bears make money Pigs get slaughtered.

What to decide "entry point" and "exit point"? Watch RSI (Relative Strength Index). When RSI is under 30, you buy, buy, buy. When RSI is over 70, you sell, sell, sell. That is my strategy.

Recent headwind is "OIL" keep making new low. I saw RSI is under 30, so I buy, buy, buy.

Today I bought OIL at $12.33 (day-low is $12.30). You will see I make money next year. I still have "buying power", so if OIL dropped even more, I will buy more.

I have guts to buy low, hold it and sell it when RSI is over 70. Market always create "fearful news", so they sell OIL. I am a contrarian, so I buy. Dare to buy OIL? It is a buying opportunity.

"Buy when everyone is fearful, Sell when everyone is greedy", quote from Warren Buffett. That's how rich get richer.

Don't worry, Be happy. The market always give you buying opportunity and selling opportunity.

I self-guided to travel only when I was young. You are younger than me, so you have that adventurous courage. I, on the other hand, just want to relax and enjoy the scenery where I have NEVER been.

Let me know how the Turkey trip goes. I will let you know my trip to the "Down Under" upon return.

Enjoy your trip and Happy New Year ! New Year, New Hope.

In June of 2008 when I just returned from China trip, the banker emailed me "Banks are NOT lending, ..." I can sense the urgency that financial crisis since that time. He told me that banks stopped to lend money for mortgage and new construction loans. Not before long, Lemon Brother crashed, Indy Mac bank bankrupted (my mom had account), .... It was a mess in 2008. Hundred banks bankrupted. The financial world almost crashed in 2008. Bad news kept coming everyday. But I knew this when June 2008. I was NOT in stock market till Dec 2008. The banker was in trouble too at that time. Fannie Mac and Freddie Mac almost crashed. Bank of America bought Merrill Lynch
JP Morgan bought Washington Mutual
Wells Fargo bought Wachovia

It was a financial storm in 2008.

Regarding children education, I am lucky to have an outstanding daughter who is attending post-graduate medical school now. She has saved me $70,000+ per year on her tuition since Sept of 2005 (from pre-Med to post-graduated medical school).

The banker told me that my ex-husband at least gave me a good daughter, so I shouldn't get mad with my ex. The banker was worry about my son who is lazy like his father (my ex). The banker almost wanted to offer my son a job but then my son got a job. I really appreciate him.

During this Christmas and New Year holiday, my daughter came home. She cleaned-up my computer "junk", updated my GPS navigator, set-up the apps on my smartphone, .... etc. Yes, I am lucky to have a smart daughter.

Kayra:

You have NEVER mentioned your ex-husband. How old are your kids? You sounded very busy traveling, building houses, dealing with government, ... How could you have time to take care of your kids?

I am a strong woman just like you, but I had a weak ex-husband. He is healthy but "lazy", "no confidence" even he is a dentist. I sympathized him, gave him "Green card", helped him to pass dentist license exam, established a dental office for him. He slept in the morning to 1 or 2 p.m. then go to the dental office, reading Chinese newspaper and Time and Life magazine at his dental clinic till 6 pm, went home for the dinner I cooked. I stayed with him for 17 & 1/2 years. I realized he took advantage of me to the maximum. He acts like a beggar. I decided to file divorce.

When I met a Caucasian banker friend, I like his personality. He is very friendly to everyone. A gentle businessman. I like him since the first meet in June of 2006. He is strong, tall, intelligent, kind, .. every element I am looking for. I know I like him more than he likes me. I admire him and trust him. He gave me many advices in real estate and stock market. He is a leader, a CEO/President/Chairman. He has 4 banks, 100+ employees, customers, .... He is really very busy. He likes to eat "Dim Sum" lunch with me. He can use chopsticks very well. He has good sense of humor. I called him when he was in a meeting, he answered I will call you back after meeting. He always called back. That's why I like him so much. Lots of people know him, so he is very behave, only lunch with him. However, one time he invited me to a dinner at a fancy restaurant.

I am lucky to know him. He is everything I am looking for. But I am NOT as important as his daughters, his sisters, his brother, his career, his employees, his customers, ... He show me he cares about me as a "FRIEND". He told me to sell house in 2007, I sold a condo and made 4.5 times. He told me to buy house in Las Vegas in Sept 2011, so I bought 5 houses in Vegas. He emailed me "You are the Queen of Las Vegas". He told me to set up LLC, but I didn't. I sold 2 out of 5 houses in 2013 to pay my mom medical bills and funeral. I still own 3 houses in Vegas. Now he advise me to sell because Vegas is too far for me to take care.

That banker likes to travel, but never asked me to go with him, even I told him I would like to travel with him. He knows I am going to Australia and NZ. He has been there several years ago.

C'est la vie.

I have done well on some stocks, YHOO, TWTR, SPY, PCLN, .... I am a swing trader always follow RSI (Relative Strength index). When RSI is near 30 or even under 30, I keep buying that stock until it stop dropping. When RSI reaches over 70 or over, I started to sell, sell, sell, until all the shares sold. I have shorted SPY successfully twice by buy "put" contracts of SPY 6 or 9 months ahead according to RSI indication. My account is "margin" account, so I am nervous sometimes. I also trade my mom (she passed) cash account which I do long term, but no shorting. I have paid tuition to learn "chart reading". I am starting to do better now.

I have big LOSS in Dec 2000, my account had been liquidated on 12/22/2000. It was painful. I went back to work as a pharmacist full time even worked 2 jobs (with one part-time). I made money from pharmacist job and trade stock again in 2006 - 07 on off days, but again I lost money. Stock market is very volatile and unpredictable. It is NOT that easy. However, I have a banker friend who can tell me the "big picture of economy". I always appreciate him for real estate and stock advices.

Those scammers hit me hard whole year in 2014. Every day I received emails from all over the world or East coast of USA. I got mad, so I posted many blogs on Chinese FriendFinder and SFF. However, about 2 - 3 weeks ago, I found out there are many viewers of my blogs for 3 - 4 days (every day 200 - 300 viewers), all the sudden. The scammers stopped to email me just about 12 days and they don't open my profile either. I have peace now. Whew, finally.

The news from Middle East were very scaring in 2014. USA is the only country that still making the all-time high in stock market.

Let's hope 2015 will be a peaceful year !

I don't have much to say for 2014. My stock account is doing Okay, I guess? No romance, just 3 lunch dates (1 at Chinese FriendFinder and 2 at Match). One time lunch only, they are NOT good match for me. I still like the banker CEO the most after 8 & 1/2 years, but he is too busy for his business. He only wants "friendship".

I currently cancelled all the subscriptions from every online dating site. I am focus on my next trip to Australia and New Zealand. I will add more pictures from that tour next year. Maybe subscribe again with some online dating sites in 2015.

I have been hit by so many scammers on many online dating sites in 2014, I am disappointed.

Kayra:

I admire your adventurous courage to travel alone, especially you are an Asian girl. I used to have full time jobs that tired me down from traveling.

After I settled down in USA, I got my first job at a bank as a "Loan Secretary" for near 3 years (I was single). The bank gave me vacation with pay, 2 weeks per year. My first long trip was self-guided with my female cousin. My cousin and I were the only two alternate drivers with her mother and my parents (5 persons). We went to AAA for advices. We traveled to Grand Canyon, Zion, Grand Teton, Bryan Canyon and Yellowstone National Parks, Mormon Temple Square and Arches National Park in Salt Lake City in Utah, passed Idaho to Las Vegas, NV. It was a fun for 16 days trip. I was 26 - 27 young. We also had a trip to another 3 national parks in California, Yosemite, Sequoya and King's Canyon next year. I have enjoyed the beautiful scenery of USA.

I got married and have 2 kids. I have owned a pharmacy and the MD who was near-by had vacations 2 week in summer and 1 week in winter. I took the family to those 9 national parks again. I wanted them to know what the beautiful scenery in USA. I also took whole family to Hawaii, to west side of Canada to see the beautiful Lake Louise, Rocky Mountain, Edmonton shopping mall (the largest mall) with travel agency. We went to Europe (England, France, Holland and Belgium) in 1995 - 1996 (Christmas - New Year Day). Next year to East coast of USA, including New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Niagara Falls and Montreal in Canada. All the trips were arranged by agencies (I paid).

I filed divorce in May 2004 and took 2 kids and my mom to Alaska cruise in late August - to early Sept of 2004. I was working for Kaiser hospital pharmacy at that time, so vacation with pay.

I traveled to China in May 2008 alone with travel agency. 4 cities -Beijing, Hang-Ziou, Su-Ziou, and Shanghai in that Olympics year in China. I was working with CVS pharmacy, vacation with pay.

My mom got osteoporosis and arthritis and fell down in her condo for 3 days and nights in 2009. I moved her to my house and quit my job to take care of her. An real estate agent in Taiwan called my mom in USA that someone was interested to buy our family house in Taiwan that vacant for 31 years. Due to my mom condition, I went back to Taiwan as "power of attorney" to sell that house in 2011. I went back to Taiwan, but the house was dirty, so I stayed in hotel. I went to Japan for 5 days while waiting for escrow to be closed. Japan had a devastating earthquake and tsunami on 3/11/2011 while I came back to USA on 2/16/2011.

Those are my big trips. Mostly with travel agencies with my family. This time I am going to Australia and New Zealand with Women Traveling Together for 16 days in 2015. The 1st time to join this WTT group. There is no "Men Traveling Together". Why?

Thank you, Kayra. I also wish you good health and happiness.

You love traveling just like me or maybe more. I am most looking forward to the trip to Australia and New Zealand in early 2015. I admire you travel alone, arrange hotels and airlines. I hate to travel alone and usually let travel agency handle those arrangement for me, except the Taiwan trip in 2011. I went to China in May 2008 with agency and had been charged $300 extra for 6 night hotel "double occupancy".

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you !!
