Know how to protect yourself from scammers

There are plenty of scammers out there. Be very vigilant. Read their profiles and emails carefully and use your wisdom, instinct, intuition, and intelligence to identify scammers. Ages and distance are very important factors to suspect scammers. Scammers always say "Age is just numbers", or "when two hearts are in love, distance is NOT a problem". If the phrase "if you don't mind" appeared in the email, chances are they are scammers from same teacher. They all live in Aldershot, UK.

1. Do NOT contact them outside before you can fully trust them. Don't reply to their email address or text phone # they provided. They will think you are the victim of their scam. However, if you emailed them outside and then found out they are scammers, please use the "Spam" button to prevent the further contact. You need to block them. If you have Yahoo, click the "Settings" at upper right corner, then choose "Blocked Addresses", add their email address to block them. Don't forget to click "Save" button before you leave the page. As phone #, you will need to change phone # which will cost you lots of problems. You need to restore and inform your friends or employer that your new phone #.

2. They pretended who they are NOT, i.e. U.S. Army Generals, cardiologist doctor, petroleum engineers, .... etc. The scammers can be males or females. Do NOT sympathize to a scammer that they are in a financial difficulty. Do NOT wire money to them. NEVER trust a person who can't meet you in person. You will be a fool, if you wire money to a stranger.

3. Always use "Bcc" (Blind carbon copy) if you email/ forward more than 1 person to protect your friends privacy and leak their email addresses to unknown hackers/ scammers. Please delete all the previous email from your friend's name, email addresses.

4. Don't give away your bank name, your account #, your Social security #, your credit card #, your address, .... You will encounter "Identity theft". I once (many years ago) lost my wallet at a supermarket. They tried to use my credit cards, but I stopped the credit card. Then they sold my name, address, S.S. # to a woman who tried 4 times to apply new credit cards (but she changed to her address). The credit card companies called me, if I applied that credit card. I said "no, I didn't apply, I lost my wallet." So, the applications for new card have been declined. I learned my lesson that I have to report "ID theft" to police and get a written report number and called your credit card company and ask for the toll free number of credit bureaus" such as Equifax, TransUnion and Experian.

5. We gave away our information (name, address, phone #, driver's license #, SS#) to banks, loan agent, real estate agent, escrow company, CPA, MD, hospital, employer, ..... I watched a TV program that a woman went to a real estate company to apply a loan, the "drug addict" secretary made copy of the victim woman application. That secretary purchased a car, fur coat, drugs, furniture, even plastic surgery, ... charged her credit card and even called and show-up at outside of victim's house. The victim was in jail in a foreign country and been sent back to USA for a trial. She has gone through many troubles to earn back her ID.

Life is full of challenge. Be careful with Scammers, hackers, and ID theft.

6. If you are a rich person, use LLC (Limited Liability Company) to purchase your residence or rental properties to prevent lawsuit that attorneys can find out all your properties in combine. However, you need to pay $800 extra every year for each LLC name.

great Highlander:

I have called-in Chinese FriendFinder to report scammers many times. Been told that "as long as they don't ask for money on Chinese FriendFinder emails, but outside email that is NOT Chinese FriendFinder responsibility". Chinese FriendFinder usually said "we will investigate this member". Sometimes, it took only 5- 10 minutes that scammer has been deactivated, but some scammers took 2 - 3 days. I think it all depended on that scammer send same email to how many women.

Those scammers are "Gold Member", but I am just a standard member, so I can't say too much.

I have subscribed Chinese FriendFinder in 2004 - 2008 but no longer a subscriber. I am here for blogs only and I like Chinese FriendFinder albums that I can organize my many photos with different trips after filed divorce.

Many bloggers here are NOT subscribers and they can't read my profile and I can't read their full profiles either. However, I have revealed many aspects of my life in many blogs. Chinese FriendFinder bloggers know me much more than other online dating sites that only provide my "profile" but no blogs.

"Greetings,
My name Is Susan Kolo. I’m diagnosed with esophageal cancer, it went unnoticed and I had to undergo a laryngectomy. I am about to end the race like this without any child and in contrast to how family members & friends has completed treating me during horrible moment in my life? I decided reaching out to a total stranger in your person. I decided to WILL/donate the sum of 4 million Euros to you for the good work of the lord. I want this last act of mine to be an Offering to GOD and humanity. Send a note back with this ref. “ASRV” back so i know you got this and I know we don’t know each other.
God bless you abundantly
Susan"

This Susan is definitely a scammer. This is a typical "Nigeria scam 419 law". Using people's greedy to get money. You won't get that so called "4 million Euro". Instead, she will ask you to pay some money first.

Do not contact that Susan outside.

I have received so many emails from Aldershot, UK and none of them real. I hate to accuse all people in Aldershot, UK but those scammers made me feel that way.

I have been to London, England during my past marriage (1996 or 1997), but never been to Aldershot.

    Thank you for sharing, Pharmacist.

Years ago, a woman friend I met here and lives in Indonesia told me she had cancer and asked if she could borrow some money. I was thinking to do so, but I didn't really trust her. I told her I might help but I need to meet her first.

I asked her phone number and try to arrange the meeting, but we never meet.
Kayra:

Don't trust a person who you have never met.

In USA, you can donate money to organized "charity" and get a receipt and that donation is tax delectable. I bought a new car and donated my old car to "Blind society" for transportation. I can wipe out the donation from "Blue
Book value" from my income tax. I did that all the time. It is good for blind people and good for me.
