Kayra:

Thanks for travel tips. I will ask my cellular carrier company for portable Wi-Fi.

I don't know if the trip including Spanish Steps, if includes, then I will look for Al 34 restaurant.

Thanks.

I'd rather go on my own than a tour. The trains between towns are excellent. Venice was my personal favorite but Rome is amazing. I heard Naples isn't worth the trip and its a very dangerous area. We went to Pompeii and Sorrento instead. Switzerland is very expensive, we went to Lucerne.

Most of the places we stayed had continental breakfast included.

Bottom line Italy is incredible!
Ciao, Bella!

Thanks for your suggestion. I think pay $500 for 10 dinners is a better because I don't speak Italian at all. I will have hard to order dinners when I can't read the menu. I can't say "Risotto alla Milanese" or "Bistecca alla Fiorentina" or order wines. Italy is famous of their wines, shoes, .... Italy use EURO. I will have some foreign money exchange in California before departure. I had bad experience to get Australia money to pay tips and drinks in Sydney. Credit cards can buy souvenirs but debit cards can get cash at banks.

As far as "tiring" schedule of journey, I have used to the itinerary to many countries in many trips. Get up very early (hotel provide wake-up calls) and smartphone can set alarm clock at local TIME. I hope Italy hotels can provide Wi-Fi for me to check emails and news occasionally while traveling. I had some hard time about weak Wi-Fi signals in New Zealand last year.

I am excited about this trip. I need to learn some Italian from "Google translate".

This itinerary is from a travel agency. The same agency has two identical 14 days tours. One tour starts from Milan (North) to Rome (South), breakfast every morning at hotels but "dine on your own" for lunches and dinners. The another tour starts from Rome (South) to Milan (North), breakfast every morning and 10 dinners included but $500 USD more expensive than without 10 dinners. I always travel with travel agencies so that they will arrange the hotel reservations, the tickets to see shows or museums, tour buses, local tour guide,.... for me. Especially I don't speak Italian.

This travel agency owned by 3 generation Italian since 1945, father, son, grandson who is the current CEO. First class tour, first class dinning, first class hotels,.... They have had long history of Italy trips.

I am thinking about take the trip with 10 dinners. What do you think? Any suggestion will be welcome.
