Queen caught on camera saying Chinese officials were 'very rude' The “golden era” of UK-China relations appears to have lost some of its glitter after the Queen accused Chinese officials of being “very rude” to the British ambassador during President Xi Jinping’s first state visit to Britain last year. During a garden party at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, a pool cameraman working on behalf of British broadcasters filmed her discussing Xi’s trip with Metropolitan police commander Lucy D’Orsi. When D’Orsi was introduced as the officer responsible for security during the visit, the Queen was heard to remark: “Oh, bad luck.” Later, the Queen told her guest: “They were very rude to the ambassador” – referring to Barbara Woodward, Britain’s first female ambassador to China. D’Orsi complained to the Queen that Xi’s visit had been “quite a testing time for me” and claimed that at one point Chinese officials “walked out” on both her and the British ambassador, telling her “that the trip was off”. “Extraordinary,” the Queen replied. “It’s very rude and very undiplomatic, I thought,” the police commander concluded. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Speaking in Beijing on Wednesday, Lu Kang, a spokesman for China’s foreign ministry, declined to directly address the Queen’s comments or confirm whether the “golden era” was still alive. “President Xi’s visit to the UK last year was a very successful one. Both sides have made great efforts for the success of the visit and the two sides highly recognised that,” Lu said. But pressed by the Guardian to confirm whether the “golden era” – which he said had officially started with Xi’s state visit – was still ongoing, Lu replied: “Both sides have expressed the hope that they would implement the outcomes of President Xi’s visit and push forwards a steady and stable rise of the bilateral relationship. This requires the common efforts of both sides.” Asked if that meant the special relationship was over, Lu said: “You can put my answers today together.” Honesty is the best policy. |

I think you are so naive and NEVER deal with Chinese people in your life. I have had many experiences with rude Chinese tenants, they use hands to open garage door, they destroy my furniture, dirty my carpet, cook so much food in kitchen and not clean up, ... I had to call eviction attorney and police over to threw them out. They don't speak English, NEVER seen garage door, oven, dishwasher, vacuum, dryer,... I had hard-time to deal with them. If you like Chinese, go ahead love them. Queen has been a queen since she was 25, now she is 90. I trust what she said "Chinese is very rude" because I have the same experiences. They never say "Excuse me, sorry". They don't know diplomatic etiquette. Honesty is the best policy.

The basic social etiquette is always remember to say "Please, Thank you, Excuse me, Sorry, ....". You don't just walk away and said "the trip is off". The two guys responded my blog have misunderstood and blame to Queen's comment on Chinese officials "very rude". Actually these are the "Cultural Differences" in between England and China, "Cultured and Rudeness". It is very important to have "Classic Etiquette" and "Politeness". Honesty is the best policy.

What's matter with your English? Can you read the center of my blog said "D’Orsi complained to the Queen that Xi’s visit had been “quite a testing time for me” and claimed that at one point Chinese officials “walked out” on both her and the British ambassador, telling her “that the trip was off”." During the scheduling Chinese leader to visit England detail, Chinese officials "walked out" on Ms. D'Orsi and British ambassador, Barbara Woodward. Don't you know if you want to leave the room, you have to say "Excuse us, we want to discuss among us and return back to you later"?? You can't just walk out without a reason. That is the common foreign diplomatic etiquette. I am just a ordinary U.S. citizen, but I know the basic etiquette to leave a room, or a party, or pass through a person. I always say "Excuse me, but I need to leave" or "Excuse me, i am passing through". That is the point that Queen said "Chinese are rude". Did I explain you well about this incident? Queen is a 90 y/o classic lady, she has been very careful to use her language. Honesty is the best policy.

After many years of the British empire Doping the Chinese people with Opium dens I can see why they were rude. Is the queen a Opium dealer according to American Lydon LaRouche? Let me tell you what I saw about Chinese. When I traveled in Australia in Feb 2015, many group of Chinese travel agencies spoke loudly in Chinese. Two Young women about early 20 took more pictures when their group had already left. They ran to catch up with the group and stepped on a Caucasian woman of my group and didn't say sorry or apologized. That Caucasian woman complained to our team leader "Chinese are rude". I am the only Asian in 18 women traveled to Australia and NZ. I immediately said "I came from Taiwan and have been in USA for 36 yrs". In early of this year, a Chinese woman had done her "#2 business" on the street in front of a Mexican's house in Rosemead (city) California and she had her toilet paper ready in her hands. Someone took many pictures of that woman and put on Chinese newspaper. Shame on that Chinese woman. One month after, another Chinese woman also did her "#2 business" on street in Monterey Park (city), Calif. OMG, don't they know there are free toilet at McDonald, Carl's Jr." or any fast food restaurants. They don't need to ask for key just go into toilet. You don't know what is "Rude". Those things are "rude". Honesty is the best policy.
