Trump Administration Bans CNN, The New York Times, Politico From White House Media Briefing Taking heed from every crackpot dictatorship in modern history, the Trump administration has blocked several major media outlets from a White House media briefing on Friday. CNN, The New York Times, Politico, and other mainstream news organizations were blocked from participating in a White House media briefing on Friday afternoon. Journalists expressed outrage at the unusual move, and the Associated Press and Time magazine boycotted the briefing as a result. Spicer reportedly allowed sympathetic outlets into the gaggle—an informal question-and-answer session between a press secretary and journalists—including the Washington Times, Breitbart, and One America News Network. Jeff Mason, the president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, said in a statement that the consortium of reporters will “strongly protest” the move and further discuss it with White House press staffers. This, for lack of a better word, is disgraceful. It is unclear exactly why Trump blocked the news organizations mentioned above, but given the coverage he has been getting from reputable media outlets, it seems likely they are taking the first steps towards a blackout of the mainstream media. As Steve Bannon declared at CPAC yesterday, Trump is going to war with "corporate media" (read any outlet that reports on facts): “Here’s where it’s going to get worse,” Bannon said. “He’s [Trump] going to continue to press his agenda. And, as economic conditions get better, as more jobs get better, they’re going to continue to fight. If you think they’re going to give you their country back without a fight, you are sadly mistaken." “Every day it is going to be a fight.” And today it seems that fight got a whole lot deadlier. If (a big if) China had bipartisan system, the carnage and massacre in "Cultural Revolution" during Mao's era wouldn't happened. Because 在野黨 would protest the 執政黨. Mao was a dictator who killed the most people in the history. Up to this date, China is still communist and one political party. So sad. That's why I said Chinese people are "silent lambs". They don't have voice. Don't they learn from the history? Don't they know carnage and massacre was wrong for 10 years? Used the young teenagers and poor people to kill their teachers, principals, professors, and rich property owners was so terrible wrong. Why can't communist change to democracy? The famous quote of Abraham Lincoln is "Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth." Our democracy country, for heaven sake, has at least two parties. But in China, you only have one party. Your leader is controlled by politburo. In term, your leader becomes dictator. We have two parties to watch for the leader. pinkcrystal, You are in a communist country and don't understand what is "bipartisan" democracy policy. You have been brainwashed by your country, one party, one voice, one policy. That was I always emphasized how bad is the communist. Ask any American who willing to give-up the democracy to go for communist. Nobody, no American will. I sympathize Chinese people, but dislike their government. Your country don't have "presidential election", people can't vote who is the leader, people can't talk freely. You don't have Google to search the real news or information. You only depend on Baidu to do search. Baidu is controlled by your government that wants to control people's freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of press. Please read my next blog "Fact-checking Trump's speech". Trump has lied and twisted the news and he is a detector which is not allowed in USA. Trump thinks his way or the high way. He is thin-skinned person. He rebutted media's criticism, so he blocked and banned CNN, New York Times, Los Angles Times, .... to enter a "Press Briefing" that is unprecedented. Those major press medias are impartial, fairly, reporting the news, but Trump blocked them. It is unconstitutional for "Freedom of Press". Do you understand? In a Press Briefing, reporters ask government questions and government has to answer the reporters correctly. Do you know those reporters have been blocked at door and not allow to enter? CNN and NY Times journalists provided fair and correct news, they have good reputation, but they have been block at door. It is like Trump covered your mouth and won't allow you to talk. Do you understand?? Do you know Trump has the lowest "poll" rating in all of the U.S. presidents? Your people won't allow to talk different voice of your government, but NOT in USA. Do not use your Chinese brain to look American people. Freedom is above everything and it in the U.S. Constitution First Amendment. Americans have the right to speak out and protest what they think the government is doing wrong. Your country has brainwashed your people. No freedom to protest or criticize government. You have no voice in your country because you don't have election, no freedom to choose your leader. Honesty is the best policy.

I am a patriot but not a chauvinist. Trump's campaign slogan sounded good "Make America Great Again". I understand Trump try to fulfill his campaign promises (political rhetoric), but his aggressive attacks on Obama from birther to Obama Care like a vengeance. I can't agree with Trump's ethic and moral standards. It seems to me that Trump wants to destroy whatever Obama did in his 8 yrs administration. Trump said he inherited a mess from Obama. Obama said he inherited a mess from George W. Bush. It is a cycle. Honesty is the best policy.

First and foremost, we have Constitution "First Amendment" says "Freedom of Speech, Religion and Press". Medias are Press. The news is circling so that we know what is happening in the world. Trump shouldn't ban CNN, New York Times and others. It is a dictatorship. I don't have Twitter account and I don't tweet. But I have many news apps in my smartphone, e.g. CNN news, BBC news, ABC news, CNBC, NBC news, LA Times, NY Times, Breaking News, ... and those apps will remind me when the new "Breaking News" come up. So, I have the first hand news from my smartphone. Trump shouldn't block or ban those major medias. I am an American too. I like USA to be great, but not agree with Trump's attitude, behavior, aggression, bigotry, ..... He acts like he is the KING. I am a Democrat and I like Joe Biden. However, he didn't enter the presidential campaign. Trump should get along with medias NOT blocking CNN, New York Times, ... and others. This will create more turmoil. Trump is a "thin skinned" person, he attacks medias because he always wants to win. This is not about winning. CNN, New York Times, ... are NOT his enemies. Trump started the fight first and stir-up more fire. I am patiently watching him since the campaign. He attacked all of his 17 competitors plus Hillary Clinton. So, he won and entered White House. He should let bygones be bygones. He has never admitted his wrong doing, he always think other people are attacking him. Trump should use his energy to fight with ISIS who is our real enemy. I post this blog because I have been patiently to watch his actions. Please do NOT aim to our own American medias, aim to ISIS. Honesty is the best policy.

CNN and other news outlets were blocked on Friday from attending an off-camera White House press briefing that other reporters were hand-picked to attend, raising alarm among media organizations and First Amendment watchdogs. White House hand-picks select media outlets for briefing. The White House blocked a number of news outlets from covering spokesman Sean Spicer’s question-and-answer session on Friday afternoon. Spicer decided to hold an off-camera “gaggle” with reporters inside his West Wing office instead of the traditional on-camera briefing in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room. Among the outlets not permitted to cover the gaggle were news organizations President Trump has singled out for criticism, including CNN. Honesty is the best policy.
