Museum of Vatican, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Square on Nov 3, 2018 Group #2 left, I was alone. I booked a Vatican trip at the hotel front desk since Oct 30 (you to reserve Vatican trip early because it is very popular). O.A.T. didn't include Vatican. On Nov 3rd, a car picked me up at hotel and I paid 66 EURO to see Sistine Chapel in Vatican. The bus was supposed to go on 2 pm but waited for more people till 2:30 pm. By the time arrived Vatican, it was 3 pm. We waited in a long line for at least one hour to enter "Museum of Vatican". So many people even it was a cloudy day in slow season of November. When we got in, it was over 4 pm. We carried a radio to listen to the local tour guide explanation. She said Vatican is another country even it locates in Rome, Italy. It is the smallest country in the world, only 43 acres. The Pope lives there. Photo 1: Museum of Vatican entrance - On that statue, the person on left is Michelangelo (with beard) and the person on right is Raphael (long hair, younger). The Pope hired Michelangelo to make sculptures, oil paintings, ... whatever Michelangelo deemed necessary. The Pope (the most powerful person at that time) paid Michelangelo lots and lots money that he couldn't say No. However, the ceiling paintings made Michelangelo almost blind before he died. The oil painting dripped to his eyes and he stayed on high ceiling for days. Photo 2: Museum of Vatican outside - the only place I could have picture with me in the picture. No time to take pictures with me in the picture. Busy to take pictures of everything inside. I stayed in Rome for six days (same hotel room). Four days with Group #2 and two days in Rome by myself. I paid extra 2 nights hotel in Rome and paid an airfare from Rome to Palermo, Sicily and 2 more nights hotel room in Palermo city in Sicily prior to Group #3 arrival. Rome hotel is more expensive that is 150 EURO per night for 2 night. Palermo in Sicily is 75 EURO per night for 2 nights. Honesty is the best policy.

Michelangelo was an Italian sculptor, painter, architect and poet of the High Renaissance born in the Republic of Florence, who exerted an unparalleled influence on the development of Western art. A number of Michelangelo's works of painting, sculpture and architecture rank among the most famous in existence. His output in these fields was prodigious; given the sheer volume of surviving correspondence, sketches and reminiscences, he is the best-documented artist of the 16th century. He sculpted two of his best-known works, the Pietà and David, before the age of thirty. Despite holding a low opinion of painting, he also created two of the most influential frescoes in the history of Western art: the scenes from Genesis on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome, and The Last Judgment on its altar wall. His design of the Laurentian Library pioneered Mannerist architecture. At the age of 74, he succeeded Antonio da Sangallo the Younger as the architect of St. Peter's Basilica. He transformed the plan so that the western end was finished to his design, as was the dome, with some modification, after his death. Honesty is the best policy.

There are so many sculptures, ceiling and wall oil paintings, wall hanging rugs, .... to take pictures. The people behind kept pushing you, so crowded. They said in summer the situation is even worse. Honesty is the best policy.
