Former Trump lawyer Cohen to testify publicly before Congress

President Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen said on Thursday he has agreed to testify publicly before a U.S. House of Representatives committee on Feb. 7.

Cohen said in a statement he had accepted an invitation by the panel's Democratic chairman, U.S. Representative Elijah Cummings, to appear publicly before the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

"I look forward to having the privilege of being afforded a platform with which to give a full and credible account of the events which have transpired," Cohen said in the statement.

Cohen was sentenced in December to a total of three years in prison for his role in making illegal hush-money payments to women to help Trump’s 2016 election campaign and lying to Congress about a proposed Trump Tower project in Russia.

Cohen, Trump's self-described longtime "fixer," pleaded guilty to the campaign finance charge in August and to making false statements in November.

The committee has a hearing with Cohen posted on its public schedule

Update news: Michael Cohen postpones House testimony, citing 'threats against his family'. President Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen announced he is postponing his public congressional testimony that was scheduled for February 7, citing "ongoing threats against his family" from the President and his attorney Rudy Giuliani.

Cohen's decision raises questions about whether he will ultimately testify publicly. He reports to prison for a three-year sentence on March 6, 2019.

    Quoting  :

Let's don't jump the gun just yet. Let's wait till February 7, 2019 what attorney Cohen answer the Congress men and women's questions on Capitol Hills.

One thing for sure is Trump denied he had extramarital affairs with these two women are TRUE affairs. Can hush money cover-up his scandals?

Furthermore, we need to wait till Special Counselor, Robert Mueller, to find out evidences that there are connections with Russia, i.e. Collusion, Destruction of Justice (filed FBI Director, Comey) and Treason. It is a huge job. We shall wait and see.

Attorney Michael Cohen once a loyal Trump's fixer, now needs to face jail time. He will be on a hot seat under oath in front of Congress to explain how that two hush-money payments came from. From Trump personal account or 2016 campaign donation fund??

What do you think?
