Candle in the Wind by Elton John (Princess Diana tribute)

Goodbye England's rose
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed itself
Where lives were torn apart
You called our country
And you whispered those in pain
Now you belong heaven
And the stars spell your name

And it seems me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along England's greenest hills
Your candle's burned long before
Your legend ever will

Loveliness we've lost
These empty days without your smile
This torch, we'll always carry
For our nation's golden
And even though we try
The truth brings us to tears
All our words cannot express
The joy you brought us through the years

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along England's greenest hills
Your candle's burned out long before
Your legend ever will

Goodbye England's rose
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed yourselves
Where lives were torn apart
Goodbye England's rose
From a country lost without your soul
'll miss the wings of your compassion
More than you will ever know

And it seems me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along England's greenest hills
Your candle's burned long before
Your legend ever will

And your footsteps will always fall here
Along England's greenest hills
Your candle's burned long before
Your legend ever will

    Quoting  :

We are in different level. I don't believe there is god, devil, heaven or hell. If there is a god, there won't have war, k*lling, murder, ... God should stop all the k*lling before these things happened. If there is a heaven, it must be a very crowded place with more than 10,000 years dead people. What are they doing on heaven, just walk around, doing nothing????

Let me quote lyrics from John Lennon famous song "Imagine".

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to k*ll or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

I don't think that you can accept my religion concept, but at least I tried to explain to you. I respect "Freedom of Religion". I am an agnostic/ atheist. Not all the religious people are nice persons. Not all the atheist are bad persons. Everything is all depended on how we do in our lives.

If you have NEVER heard this song, please Google "Elton John Playing at Princess Diana's Funeral Candle in the Wind" and listen to the music with your heart, it will touch your heart. Every time I listen to this song, my tears wet my eyes.

I like Princess Diana very much. I printed out her picture and gave to my hairstylist to cut my hair - The Diana hairstyle.

My first trip to Europe for 8 days/6 nights from Christmas Eve 1995 to New Year's Day of 1996. It was a family trip with my ex, my son (at 5), daughter (at 7) and my mom. We visited Big Ben, Windsor Castle, Westminster Abbey (where Diana's wedding church), Tower of London (British Queen's personal jewelries including the most famous Crown Jewels. There is a conveyor belt under your feet so the line can't be delayed), Palace of Westminster (We went inside, it looks like U.S. Congress House of Representative) and Buckingham Palace (where British Queen works, we only stood outside, took pictures), ..... I was wishing to see Princess Diana (she was alive during our trip), Queen or Prince Charles, .... during the trip, but we didn't see any of royal member.

I shopped at the luxury department store - Harrods for Christmas sales. Do you know who is the Harrods owner? He is the late Princess Diana boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed's father. Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed died together in that fatal car accident in Paris, France on August 31, 1997.

Elton John wrote and sang this song at Princess Diana's funeral. It is sad that Lady Di died in a tragedy car accident in France in 1997. Her fairy tale marriage ended with heartbreaking divorce. She was a beautiful, elegant, kindhearted, gorgeous, and down-to-earth princess, but there was a 3rd person in their marriage. She was the most photographed woman in the world.

Elton John sang this song at Princess Di funeral. They lyrics is so beautiful with a little sadness. I am sorry that she died too soon at age 36.
