Democracy and Freedom's victory Taiwan president Tsai wins by landslide in stinging rebuke to China TAIWAN PRESIDENT TSAI ING-WEN SAYING: "Taiwan's people decline the 'one country, two systems' model, we respect democracy and our sovereign rights. As the president of Taiwan, I must deal with the cross strait relations according to the will of the people. Just now, as I started the speech I spent a lot of time explaining how we had dealt with cross strait relations and how we will deal with it in the future. I hope this election result sends China a clear message and that they will understand what Taiwan's people want. And I hope they can understand that a stable relationship comes from the mutual efforts of both sides, it's not a responsibility of one side. On this basis, we are willing to start a positive interaction (with China)." China and months of anti-government unrest and protests in Hong Kong took center stage in her campaign, with Tsai holding out Taiwan as a beacon of hope for protesters in the former British colony. China claims Taiwan as its sacred territory, to be taken by force if needed. A threat which Chinese President Xi Jinping reiterated year ago, though he said he preferred a peaceful solution. Tsai beat her main opponent Han Kuo-yu of the Kuomintang party - which favors closer ties to China - by more than 2.6 million votes.  Honesty is the best policy. |

[BThere are more than 60 countries, i.e. USA, Japan, British, France, Australia, South Korea, ..... all sent Congratulation statements to Dr. Tsai Ing-Wen (she has PhD degree in England) of incumbent Taiwan president. There are more than 100 medias and over 210 journalists came to Taiwan for this Taiwanese Presidential election. They have witnessed Taiwan's democracy system and courage to say No, to CCP. ] Honesty is the best policy.

Taiwan President, Tsai Ing-Wen of DPP (Democratic Progressive Party, 民主進步黨) has 8,170,231 votes that is 57.1%. President Tsai is the first female Taiwanese president 4 years ago. This time is her re-election that she won a unprecedented victory of over 8.17 million votes. Part of reason because China violently suppressed Hong Kongers since June 9, 20/19 that awakes Taiwanese "One country, Two system" can NOT be trusted. Han Kuo-Yu of KMT (Kuo-min-tang, 國民黨) has 5,522119 votes that is 38.6% James Soong of PFP has 608,590 votes that is 4.3%. Taiwan has at least three political parties. Honesty is the best policy.
