The joy(s) of Dogs.

they like many things, from popcorn, to caramel popcorn, and other kinds of snacks and now they like roasted peanuts. When i Bar-B-Que, they like to stay close to the pit, and they know, they have some meat on the grill too, so they wait with eager eyes, for their portion.

Each morning before work, I give them each a cookie, sometimes two, a few days ago, they each left their cookie on the floor all day, and when I came home, I let them out, and when they came in, they immediately ate their cookies.

I found that truly funny. Some days, they do not touch their food, they either wait until I sit down to watch a movie, or they go in and eat either close to the time I go to bed, or they go and eat after I go to bed.

On rare occasions they eat during the day.
But when I put their food outside, if I add some gravy or meat to it, they will eat it right away.

when I pull in the garage, they are eager for me to open the back door, and as I turn off the alarm, they each have to jump on me as if to play tag, as their ways of simply saying hello. then they are ready to go out and do their thing.

They are quite interesting, they share the same bowl, one eats what it wants, and then the other will eat what it wants, but they don't fight each other to get to the food. hey already know if one gets something, the other will get the same.

they are a bit different with their rawhide bones, they guard it, and later they may let the other one have it, and one only wants to eat the one, after the small has chewed on it for a while, and somethings, one will get both of them, and guard it as if she was watching her own puppies.

one day, she put it in the way, so the little one could not walk past, he went all the way around through the other room, to keep the big one from feeling that he was trying to get the bone.

but they love music, soon as I start to play the Piano, the little one starts to sing. but they have certain beats they like, and they immediately start playing with each other..

The joy(s) of Dogs.

How much would you pay for the dog of your dreams? $100? $500? How about $600... thousand? It may sound insane in the membrane, but a rare dog breed called the Tibetan mastiff is collecting those kinds of kingly sums in China. What's with the crazy prices? "The Today Show" profiled the nation's love of the pooches, and inspired a slew of Web searches along the way.

For those who prefer mutts to purebreds, here's a quick explanation of the newest "it" dog. The Tibetan mastiff is a large, fluffy canine that weighs between 100 and 200 pounds when fully grown. It's family friendly and makes a nice watchdog due to its protective nature. There is no doubt about it — the dogs are beautiful. They look like a cross between a lion and a small bear. But come on — no dog is worth more than a four-bedroom home. Right?

Extreme grooming: Dogs that look like panda bears, camels

Well, maybe, maybe not. "The Today Show" explains that the Tibetan mastiff is believed by many in China to be a kind of holy dog. The breed "is considered the guardian dog of the former Himalayan kingdom of Tibet and reputed to be the original source of many large dog breeds today." Most often, the buyers of these precious dogs are millionaires (who else could afford it?). Some speculate that the buyers get the dogs as a status symbol. Others contend that the dogs are just so great that they're worth the cost.

Following the morning show's segment, online lookups on "tibetan mastiff" and "tibetan mastiff pictures" both roared to life. Their 2,343% surge made the breed one of the most searched-for pups !, even surpassing the first family's favorite, the Portuguese Waterdog.

You can watch the "Today Show" segment below. But beware — it may inspire you to take out a second mortgage and max out your credit cards. But that's only if you're in China. If you're in the United States, you can probably find a Tibetan mastiff for between $800 and $3,500 (about the same as most purebreds).

I've noticed lately, my dogs, want me to have more and more hands on contact with them. They seem to rush over, to want me to pet them, and rub their heads, and they even want to lay their heads on me, while I watch a movie. the more I watch them, and look at the natural gentle nature of them, they seem to be even more gentle and relaxed in so many other ways. they move from room to room with me, and one even tries to predict which room I will go in, and rush to get there ahead of me.

all day, they don't bother anything, and a few days I've worked 12 hrs, and I really don't like they have to hold their natural needs for so long, I thought about making a dogie door, but down here there is the reality of 'snakes", and I can't see the thought of me coming in the house and finding a snake has crawled through the opening. My lawn stays cut low, and I've not seen any on it, but that does not mean they are not somewhere in the vicinity. maybe I will spread some of the snake repellent anyway, around the Patio, and around my office room in the back, to insure they don't come and get close to it.

So far the dogs seem to be cool about everything, although I can see where they do like to get in my chair, when they know I'm not home.

I do see that I'm going to have to be selective about the 'Rawhide bones" they get, because the ones made in china seem to break and splinter, but the ones that are made here, the more they chew it, it seems to be more natural. I think the ones from China are synthetic or something, and they don't soften and become chewable like the ones produced here.
