Well ... a Year ago...

Well a year ago, it was 'HOT', and its hot now, and has been hot for a few weeks, Its OK, because that's how it is. Thank goodness for Air conditioners. I work in an office, so the days are quite interesting, I do go out and visit organizations, but even then the air conditioner in the car seem like a serious necessity.

It may be 100 degrees outside, and I among many others have the heater on by our desk, and some even close their office and run the heat all day. some of the women even bring shawls, to hang over their shoulders, or drape over their legs to keep warm, BUT REMEMBER, its still 100 degree outside.
By lunch time, everyone is speaking about how hot it is outside, but the heater is still running next to the desk.

Now talk about wasting energy, we are an amazing people, as human beings, We run that air conditioner at full blast, and the heater is running at top speed all at the same time.

The weather outside is so hot, that even at home last week, I put a slab of rips on the patio table, and within an hour or so, it had thawed completely. Then I put it on the grill and went back inside under the air conditioner. yes, we are some interesting beings, mankind creativity made both the heater and the air conditioners, and in the original motivation of the design, they were not created with the intent for both to be used in the same room at the same time. but we do it....

I noted that my dogs, seem to not have a problem staying in the house while I work, I leave the ceiling fan on, and set the air where it will come on and off during the day. fortunate for them, they have a better situation than some people, but then again, they are family...

Now in the winter months, some office run a fan, while the heater is on, so the reverse happens during the winder, because it just goes to show, that as human being today... we are rarely satisfied with the general conditions,

Now, FLASH BACK, 100 years ago... people tolerated both the heat of summer and the cold of winter, and in many cases there was not thought they might have an air conditioner. I do remember when cars did not come with Air conditioner standards, and there was an extra cost on some cars if one wanted a heater. and a radio was pure luxury..

and to think... We made all of these gadgets, from rocks, dirt, and what within it. .... yep, the weather and conditions, may even make us realize how much ingenuity is within the nature of mankind.

I shall delight to see what another year will bring me to enjoy....

when I was a kid, I do remember when we walked to the store, the tar beneath the gravel in the roads would bubble, and some of the asphalt roads would become soft in places.
In the middle of the summer days, we were told not to ride our bicycles because it was too hot.
but in early childhood we did not have air-conditioners, we had oscillating fans, and some window fans, but we seemed to handle it better, Maybe because we were kids.

I do remember some very hot times in LA, and when I'd come here to visit, it would be very hot.

But maybe in the last few years it may well be hotter. Here in the south, the weather gets every level, but it is also very crazy, It may be beautiful in the day, and then in the later evening the clouds may roll in and it may even storm some days.

Last year, it rained everyday for a month, this past couple of months its been flat out hot.
The weather here is so unpredictable, I have not ridden my bikes for more than a year, now both batteries are dead, and I just replaced one batter in one bike last year. I keep pondering selling it, because it is becoming more and more pointless for me to keep paying for them monthly and not using them.
They are very beautiful machines, but here the weather is a trip... and I don't ride at night, because they have things (animals) that cross the roads and I'm certainly not interested in hitting one,

Even walking is a trip, before it was too cold, and now its too hot...
