Maintenance Everything seem to mandate some level of maintenance.      I start up the car, generally as designed the air conditioner comes on, yet lately it won't do so each time I start the car, but if I get out, open the hood and close it, the air conditioner starts working. "pure crazy".. This has been fix it weekends since the start of summer. from changing the flapped in the toilet tank, to changing the light fixture on the side of the house, replacing the light on the porch, ( soon as I turn the screws to take off the cap, the bulb starts working), heck, I changed it anyway. changing the faucets in my bathroom within my bedroom area. I had the hedges trimmed in the back yards, a week or so I had the ones 'cut at least 2 feet lower than they were in the front yard, (now I notice the plumb tree in the front yard did not present plumbs this year.) Still more work to do, I have to change the door on the small building in the back yard, because I have two desk and other office furniture set up in there. the cheap doors that it came with simply separated, so I will replace it with a sliding glass door, then I need to install a small air-conditioner. Well the Lawn lights seem to have broken or they are leaning , so I want to replace all of them, but this time, I want to run the pvc pipe to contain the wire and pvc tubes to insert the pole portion of the yard lights, so it won't lean and the wires are buried properly. Last weekend the Stanley Steamer came and cleaned the carpet. A few weeks ago, I put new tires on the car, prior to that, a battery in the motorcycle,.... It is amazing.... just stuff !!! Then, I bought 5 pair of shoes, I had the sole protectors put on 3 pair, but I have more pairs that I want to add the sole protectors to. More maintenance stuff One computer is in the shop, two computer in the garage, one needs a video card, the other needs a power supply, its just a matter of actually getting and installing it.... then, I had 4 pair of slacks, re-fitted for the length, because I got tired of them being too long. It seems this stuff never ends. As I mentioned in another blog, the dogs need their hair trimmed. _____________________________________ Surely, with these "additional wants", will come even more maintenance I want to enclose the patio, but I don't want to attempt it until I have the funds to not only enclose it but extend it so after the enclosure, there is still an outdoors patio. I want to install walkways in my back yard, Not sure If I want it to be poured Cement of simply cement squares that lead to a 'fountain' and to the back of the yard, then to have another yard light installed in the corner at the rear. Inside, the fireplace would be better re-covered with some very nice tile instead of the brick facing, and remove the carpet and put tile or hardwood. maybe even have the wall cut out between the front room and the Den. For sure to, at some point have sprinklers install in the front and back yard. then I think about other area's I'd like to live... where some of this stuff is already part of the house. But I do know, no matter where I live, it still will be a want for other stuff. I certainly would like to have a house with a 'his and her's separate bathrooms made right off the bed room, with their own individual full size walk in closet space with shelves and rack and dressing area. To get these things might be better to look for homes with much of it already intact. But the matter of cost still is a big issue, as well as the ongoing expense it would bring to find this stuff ready made. But the ultimate addition is to have a computer controlled system, that opens the blinds, open the windows, regulate the lights, the sound system ( by the way, I want a fully built in music system which can be controlled from a computer panels as to where the music is activated. )... Yet, we have not even began to discuss the Garage. Currently, the house is 4 bedrooms, den, front room, kitchen, laundry room, enclosed garage, front and rear patio's extra parking in front. and the driveway can hold maybe 4 cars, although its a simple house in a working class community, these modification would probably make it more modernized.. one KEY thing is to have a self contained generator, along with a storm shelter built under the back yard which can be accessed from inside the house. I want to put all my 'DVD movies on a multi "tera drive" hopefully they have some software which will allow a menu to pop up for selection options. if not, as long as I can get them on a Tera Drive. This stuff probably cost a lot less than I'd think, but with a well designed budget it is reasonable, the matter is to make more money and get to work on it. To get this stuff done and have the house paid off, would be ideal... Then, I'd only have the maintenance cost to manage. _______________________ what's funny about all this stuff... this is samples of the kind of thing which exist in life, not to mention personal health matters, work matters and other things. So, when people get these delusions of ROMANTIC FANTASY, and some dream sequence behind their infatuation, they purely forget that all these 'maintenance matters will exist", not only in their lives, but the life of the person they select as a mate. Because people often neglect to think and talk about this stuff, when the maintenance matters come up, they get lost, and then whine about the Romantic Fantasy Faded"... all because they did not factor the reality of life, into their Romance Fantasy. Yes, and then you go to work, there are always co-worker issue, there are always last minute task, and then there is always a boss that will have some issue about something to some degree or the other... Why people try to pretend this does not exist when they are 'chasing romance with the fantasy concepts'.. is itself amazing. The truly odd thing is while they are chasing romance, they find a way to deal with all these things and still put on the fantasy face. But when they get in a relationship, the fantasy face disappears and the 'worker bee face comes with all the maintenance issues:, and they sometimes bury the fantasy face so deep under the maintenance face, until they loose sight of each other. Prime example of this is couples who are doing fine and then they decide to 'remodel the house" ; by the time the house remodeling is complete they are facing each other in divorce court. It's almost insane...but these same people will tell other and each other how educated they are, but then they conduct their relationships with a level of ignorance that even uneducated people sometime find a way to mater the things these so called educated people can't deal with or over come. LIFE COMES WITH MAINTENANCE FUNCTIONS !!!! AND MANY OF THEM, THE MORE STUFF YOU WANT, THE MORE MAINTENANCE FUNCTIONS COME ALONG WITH IT. Some times a man and woman who is barely making it financially, can be happy with simple things, and keep their maintenance cost low, which gives them not only appreciation of what they do acquire, they don't loose sight of each other, until they over load themselves with debt for things that come with maintenance cost and maintenance time consumption. some people have been known to say, they were happier when they had less , than when they get to the income level of saying they have made it to the income aimed goal. Because once they get there they will start buying more stuff, and that stuff all comes with a built in time consumption factor they did not consider. I can remember when I had no bills other than house and utility, and I had cash flow... but at the time I was trying to build a business. what I found was, even having the money to go do stuff or buy stuff was not a point of being happy, one because the more I spend the more I had to think about how to replenish it, how to get the business going, how to do this, and having to do this or that. What I find now_ the matter of being busy with something is what our lives is about. if we can't figure that out and learn how to incorporate the lives of another, and realize that other we choose as a mate, equally so, has to be busy about something, they have to be of maintenance concern about something, and often times some of our maintenance concerns have nothing to do with the mate, they are concerned with our individual wants and likes of things and stuff. Why do we over look this.....???? may well be why so many peoples relationship fail... Because one and sad to say, often time the woman has an image of how things should go in her ideal concepts about the relationship, and forget that the man has a life and part in the relations along with his own maintenance concerns as an individual, as well as she has her own maintenance concerns as an individual, far and beyond the relationships and home of the relationship maintenance concerns. The handle "beyond fantasy3" ... was chosen because what is real in relationships and what makes them last, always exist beyond fantasy. the three (can) represents, his, her's and we/us...

Yes, good skills at maintenance is certainly a plus, especially if one is heavy into gadgets and machinery... or we will have to become society which build 'durable goods". durable goods may even be a saving method to decrease the rapid depletion of natural resources. Thing made, can be made to last, but industry has no concern for that, they are interest in re-sale, and replicating the models with a few tweaks and flooding the market with more non durable products.
